Penerangan Pekerjaan - Senior Bartender (Head Mixologist)

The Senior Bartender is an experienced and skilled professional who assumes a leadership

role in a bar or restaurant setting. This position involves overseeing bar operations, providing

exceptional customer service, training and mentoring junior bartenders, and ensuring the

overall success of the bar area. The Senior Bartender utilises their expertise in mixology,

beverage preparation, and customer engagement to create a welcoming and enjoyable

environment for guests. They are responsible for maintaining high-quality standards,

managing inventory, enforcing safety and hygiene protocols, and contributing to revenue

generation through effective upselling techniques. The Senior Bartender also collaborates

with the management team to develop menus, update pricing, and implement new beverage

offerings. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a

passion for delivering an exceptional bar experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Mixology and Beverage Preparation:

● Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes, ensuring high-quality standards.

● Have an in-depth knowledge of various spirits, liquors, beers, wines, and cocktails.

● Create new and innovative drink recipes while keeping up with current industry trends.

● Develop world-class cocktails, innovate, and think deeply when telling venues story through cocktails.

● Ensure accurate and efficient pouring, garnishing, and presentation of drinks.

● Maintain world class beverage offerings and standards.

● Be the creative pilot for a high concept bar program.

● Take overall responsibility for managing master beverage lists and product offerings.

● Manage the cost of cocktails and other beverages.

● Maintain market awareness by staying abreast of local competition and industry trends, refining venue offerings where appropriate.

2. Customer Service:

● Welcome and greet customers, providing a friendly and hospitable atmosphere.

● Interact with customers, taking orders, and recommending beverages based on their. preferences.

● Offer detailed descriptions of menu items, including ingredients and potential allergens.

● Resolve customer complaints or issues professionally and promptly.

● Act as an ambassador within the venue, building rapport with guests and sharing the

venue's inspiration.

3. Leadership and Training:

● Train and mentor junior bartenders, ensuring they adhere to standard operating procedures.

● Assist in the recruitment and hiring of new bartending staff.

● Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a positive work environment.

● Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively to ensure smooth bar operations.

● constantly push the bar team to create and learn new beverages.

● Develop and maintain all Standard Operating procedures and a best-in-class service environment for the team.

● Take lead responsibility for recruitment, onboarding, and development of the team.

4. Bar Operations Management:

● Oversee inventory management, including monitoring stock levels and procurement

● Maintain and organize bar equipment, ensuring cleanliness and functionality.

● Implement and enforce safety and hygiene standards, including responsible alcohol service.

● Collaborate with the management team to develop and update bar menus and pricing.

● Oversee all aspects of daily bar service and bar operations.

● Implement and maintain an effective Bar manual, including communications diary.

● Ensure all bar offerings are always available and of a high standard.

● Develop a shift report system incorporating all daily financials, sales data, and comments.

5. Upselling and Revenue Generation:

● Utilize upselling techniques to promote higher-priced items and increase sales.

● Suggest food and beverage pairings to enhance the customer experience.

● Monitor customer consumption, ensuring responsible alcohol service.

● Uphold stringent in-bar stock control culture. minimizing wastage, shrinkage, and

complimentary drinks.

6. Bar Maintenance and Cleanliness:

● Ensure the bar area is clean, well-stocked, and visually appealing.

● Clean and sanitise glassware, utensils, and bar equipment regularly.

● Follow proper cleaning and maintenance procedures for draft systems and beverage dispensers.

● Maintain impeccable hygiene standards in all aspects of beverage operations.

7. Knowledge and Compliance:

● Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new products, and drink recipes.

● Adhere to all legal regulations regarding the service of alcohol.

● Follow health and safety guidelines, including proper handling of hazardous substances.

Desired Qualifications:

Extensive Bartending Experience: Proven track record of working in a fast-paced bar or

restaurant environment with a minimum of 3-5 years of bartending experience,

demonstrating proficiency in mixology, beverage preparation, and customer service.

Strong Beverage Knowledge: A comprehensive understanding of various spirits, liquors,

beers, wines, and cocktails is essential. Well-versed in different drink recipes, including

classic and contemporary cocktails, and be able to recommend suitable beverage options to

customers.

Certification:

Possessing relevant certifications such as a bartending certification or

responsible alcohol service certification (e.g., TIPS, ServSafe) is advantageous and may be

required depending on local regulations. Diploma / degree in hospitality or a vocational

training in food & beverage. Excellent command of English and additional skills, like guest

service and interpersonal skills are essentials.
