SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Developing and Implementing IMS Policies:
To create quality control checklists and forms for Construction Quality Assessment (CQA) and Pre QLASSIC inspection (Pre-Q).
Inspections:
Conduct CQA and Pre-Q inspections for valuate the building quality of project.
Collaboration and Communication
Prepare and submit report after completion of CQA and Pre-Q inspections.
To issue memorandum letter for CQA report and Pre-Q report and submit it to those involved for action.
To coordinate and monitor the progress of corrections from contractors based on non-compliance in CQA and Pre-Q reports that have been issued.
Instruct and prompt the main contractor to apply to the CIDB for a QLASSIC inspection of the fully completed project.
Ensure all records of QLASSIC scoring results that have been received are kept and recorded.
Conduct monthly quality meetings and attend site meetings.
Constantly updating QASHE (quality) induction slides.
Training and Awareness
Conduct annual an awareness seminar on QLASSIC in the construction industry.
To apply and attend the QLASSIC industry assessment to be retained as a QLASSIC assessor.
MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
It shall be the duty of a QASHE Coordinator (Quality)
As professional which responsible for inspecting construction projects and ensuring compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
1. Building Code Compliance: Building inspectors enforce and interpret building codes, regulations, and zoning ordinances to ensure that construction projects meet the required standards. They review construction plans, specifications, and permit applications to ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
2. Inspections: Quality building inspectors conduct inspections at various stages of construction, including foundation, framing, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, and final inspections. They visit construction sites to examine the work performed, verify compliance with approved plans, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
3. Defect Identification: During inspections, building inspectors identify construction defects, substandard workmanship, and code violations. They document these issues and provide detailed reports to the relevant parties involved in the project, including contractors, architects, and homeowners. Inspectors may recommend corrective actions and re-inspect to ensure compliance.
4. Collaboration and Communication: Quality building inspectors collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other professionals involved in construction projects. They communicate inspection findings, provide guidance on code compliance, answer questions, and address concerns raised by the project team or property owners.
5. Code Development and Updates: Quality building inspectors may contribute to the development and updating of building codes, regulations, and standards. They stay updated on the latest building industry practices, advancements, and code revisions to provide accurate and informed guidance during inspections.
6. Enforcement and Legal Compliance: Quality building inspectors may be involved in enforcing compliance through corrective actions, issuing violation notices, or participating in legal proceedings related to code violations or construction disputes. They may provide expert testimony in court cases or administrative hearings.
