JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Manager of Financial Reporting holds primary responsibility for supervising and directing all facets of financial reporting within the Group. This encompasses activities such as preparing and submitting financial statements, quarterly reporting to Bursa Securities, managing audits and taxes, conducting budget and business plan exercises, drafting board papers, analysing financial outcomes, compiling annual reports, establishing financial controls and procedures, ensuring compliance with reporting standards and regulations, and upholding the precision and trustworthiness of financial data. Additionally, the Senior Manager of Financial Reporting assumes a pivotal role in facilitating external audits and shall possess strong leadership abilities, analytical thinking, and a solid understanding of financial reporting standard and practices of property development industry.

 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Oversee the accounting department's operations for financial reporting across the Group, ensuring alignment with applicable Financial Reporting Standards, Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements, the Companies Act 2016, and Group Accounting Policies.
  2. Lead in planning, coordination, and management of the Property Development accounting particularly in the revenue and cost recognition in accordance with the accounting standards. This also includes coaching and sharing of the best practices with the relevant staffs.
  3. Supervise the preparation of audits, quarterly reports, Board of Directors' reports, audited financial statements, and other periodic reporting obligations.
  4. Review and/or prepare relevant Board papers.
  5. Lead the preparation of audited financial statements for the Group and other essential components in the Annual Report.
  6. Deliver timely and insightful financial analysis and data to support both historical and forward-looking perspectives, aiding strategic and operational decision-making.
  7. Play a central role in the annual business planning and budgeting process for the Group.
  8. Plan and monitor cost control activities to ensure adherence to approved budgets.
  9. Oversee taxation matters and act as the primary point of contact for auditors, financial advisors, regulatory bodies (such as Bursa), Customs, LHDN, and tax agents.
  10. Review and implement accounting and financial policies and control procedures to ensure conformity with Group policies, statutory regulations, and corporate requirements.
  11. Undertake additional responsibilities as directed by immediate superiors as needed.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or any related field; and a member of the MIA.
  2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial reporting.
  3. Working experience in a property development or construction company, preferably a Public Listed company.
  4. Working experience with an audit firm would be a great advantage.
  5. Strong technical knowledge of MFRS and financial reporting requirements for public companies.
  6. Prior experience managing a team of finance professionals, with demonstrated leadership abilities.
  7. Excellent analytical skills and critical thinking, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights.
  8. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  9. Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems, such as Oracle, SAP, or NetSuite.
  10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  11. Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities effectively.
