Senior Project Management Manager - Start Immediately

JOB OVERVIEW:

Responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of all projects from conception to completion. You will lead a team members, oversee project budgets and timelines, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on-time and within budget. Your goal will be to deliver high-quality projects that meet our customer requirements, maximize profitability, and enhance our reputation in the market.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

1. Lead, manage and ensure projects are executed safely and within approved costs, time and quality.
2. Lend support to the HOD on key aspects of development projects through contribution in various management processes.
3. Manage relationships with local regulatory and statutory authorities, communities and customers.
4. Communicate and ensure compliance with corporate strategies, philosophies and advice from Executive Committee and governance bodies such as Audit, and Tendering and Procurement Committee.
5. Direct and oversee the operational aspects of the diverse functions within project delivery.
6. Establish project management functional capabilities (standards, processes and systems) that are consistent with business objectives, comparable to best-in-class industry norms, and attest to standards of excellence personified by the People Developer brand.
7. Empower and groom a team of Project Managers / Executives into an engaged, high-performing unit.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Advise the HOD on key external and internal developments, market and industry trends relevant to the business and to mitigate implications to operations.
2. Refine and institutionalise project management capabilities including templates and methodologies covering the project lifecycle (initiation, planning, execution and close-out).
3. Refine and institutionalise project management reporting across all projects including tracking of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Risks.
4. Refine and strengthen the relationship of Project Management function with corporate functions such as Constructions, Contracts & Procurement, Sales & Marketing, Sales Admin and Customer Care to deliver excellence from the inception, development and implementation to handover of products to our customers.
5. Support various project team members in planning and monitoring of various pre-construction activities including providing relevant information for preparation of marketing collateral, customer purchase agreement, timely approval from authorities, selection of vendors and timely award of contracts.
6. Plan, execute, monitor and review all operational activities to ensure property development projects are delivered safely and within approved costs, time and quality.
7. Manage relationships with preferred consultants and contractors.
8. Ensure a collaborative and joint problem-solving approach between Project Management, Constructions, Design and Contracts functions on day-to-day issues concerning quality, cost and time that arise during ongoing construction.
9. Enforce strict project implementation standards covering time, safety and quality.
10. Ensure thorough inspection of all work prior to authorizing billing milestones to Sales Administration & Customer Service.
11. Ensure technical support on major infrastructure works during and after the defect liability period.
12. Develop and nurture a high performing team of project management by supporting various people management activities including recruitment, performance planning and evaluation, and training and development.
13. Develop metrics and recommendations of key strategies to optimize cost, cash flow and efficiency.
14. Continuously improving the organizations’ project governance practices and identifying areas for improvements including best project management practices, cost saving and revenue enhancement.
15. Assist in developing the governance framework that defines how projects are planned, executed, monitored and controlled.

DESIRED QUALIFICATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCES:

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related field.
• A matured professional with a minimum of 12-15 years of work experience in township or condominium development.
• Solid project management experience with track record of success in managing a business or delivering significant projects.
• Experience in building a scalable, multi-project portfolio delivery model and contribution to growth of business.
• Demonstrated experience in building and developing a strong and successful team.
• A Professional Engineer who is registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia.
