We are looking for a Senior Proposal Engineer (Metering) to join our Solutions Business Center team, based in in Shah Alam, Malaysia, covering the Asia Pacific region (including China and India).

As a Senior Proposal Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the development, preparation, and submission of technically compliant and commercially competitive proposals for metering solutions. This regional position collaborates with external sales, solution pursuit managers, engineering & production team, product centres, and subject matter experts to maximize proposal quality, manage risks, and support order conversion success. The position requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and a willingness to travel as needed.

Which tasks will you perform?

You will:

• Lead the preparation of technical and commercial proposals for metering solution projects, managing proposal priorities, quotation revisions and timely submissions


• Develop metering solutions and system concepts, including system architectures, instrumentation selection and integration concepts based on process data, operating conditions and project requirements


• Review process data, operating conditions, and project requirements to determine optimal technical solutions


• Evaluate technical requirements and project risks, preparing compliance matrices, deviations, clarifications, assumptions, exclusions and risk assessments


• Coordinate supplier engagement and third-party solutions, including RFQs, competitive quotations and the evaluation of equipment, packages and interfaces


• Ensure proposed solutions are technically compliant and commercially viable, meeting relevant industry standards, customer specifications, metrological requirements, and company quality and governance requirements while remaining executable and maintainable


• Support technical discussions and clarification meetings throughout the proposal process and ensure a smooth handover of awarded projects to the execution teams

What do we expect from you?​

You have:

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, such as Mechanical, Electrical, Controls or Process Engineering, or a comparable qualification


• Bring 8+ years of relevant experience in proposal engineering, project engineering, metering systems, process instrumentation or process control engineering


• Have proven experience developing complex technical and commercial proposals, ideally within EPC, oil & gas, LNG, petrochemical, terminal, energy or marine environments


• Bring strong system, solution and application knowledge in metering solutions, with the ability to translate technical and process requirements into practical concepts


• Communicate confidently in English, both written and spoken; additional regional languages are an advantage


• Work in a structured and collaborative way, with strong organizational and stakeholder-management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in an international environment
