Senior Reservoir Engineer

Ad Terra, a Malaysia based geoscience & engineering consulting firm, is actively looking for a highly proficient and self-driven Senior Reservoir Engineer, offering top-notch know how. Additionally, you will be expected to contribute to production optimization, engage in the enhancement of Field Development Plans, and assess future growth prospects from both technical and economic angles.

Job duties

· Work as an integrated team member with geoscientists, drilling and production engineers to monitor field performance and optimize production.

· Provide input into Field Development Plans (e.g. forecasted production profiles, well count, data acquisition plans etc.).

· Assess opportunities for future infill wells, workovers and near-field exploration targets and prepare recommendations, well proposals, and AFEs as appropriate.

· Work closely with our main clients and internal team to integrate geologic, reservoir and production data into reservoir simulation models, conduct or coordinate reservoir studies to robustly assess dynamic performance of our conventional, fractured, heavy oil, EOR (polymer) and carbon storage reservoirs.

· Lead the development, maintenance and history matching of fit-for-purpose dynamic reservoir simulation models. Utilize classical reservoir engineering techniques e.g. material balance and decline curves as appropriate to support the model.

· Perform data QA/QC and correct anomalies, analyse trends to recognize deviations and inconsistencies.

· Correct fit for reservoir simulation analysis to accurately predict dynamic performance and provide appropriate technical inputs to support business decisions like workovers, infill drilling, facility capacity & operational thresholds, field development decisions and reserves estimation.

· Quantify subsurface uncertainties using multi scenario modelling methods.

· Prepare technical reports to share results and analyses using simulation studies with internal and external stakeholders.

· Support evaluation and enhancement of reservoir simulation workflows, tools and technologies..

Skills and Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering from a recognized university.

· Minimum 15 years of experience in the upstream oil and gas industry.

· Minimum 10 years of Experience with reservoir simulation.

· Experience using reservoir (flow) simulation software such as Tnav, Eclipse, Petrel RE, Intersect, or CMG is required.

· Waterflood improved recovery experience on large fields.

· Complex dynamic simulation and history matching experience.

· Strong analytical skills to evaluate critical operating parameters through data and trend analysis.

· Knowledge of basic reservoir engineering concepts including reservoir simulation, analytical performance prediction, and economic metrics.

· Good fundamental understanding/experiences in fluid mechanics, porous media flow, computational fluid dynamics.

· Experience in data science, machine learning will be an added advantage.

· Project Management experience will be an added advantage.

· Proficiency in English, written and spoken.
