Get to Know the Role

You will be reporting to the Software Engineering Manager II. Your work will help millions by developing mobile apps used daily by tens of millions, crafted to ensure seamless service with failure and fallback solutions. You will collaborate with Product Managers, QA, and Designers to create the best delivery features. You will work on site in Malaysia

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of Android applications, ensuring high performance and reliability
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define and implement new features
• Optimize application performance, security, and scalability
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers to maintain code quality and best practices
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues using advanced debugging techniques
• Stay up-to-date with the latest Android development trends and technologies, recommending improvements to our development processes
• Contribute to the development of reusable components and libraries to enhance team productivity
• Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
• Document technical specifications and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation for all projects

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 4-5 years of professional experience in Android application development
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and deep understanding of the Android SDK
• Expertise in Android design patterns, architecture components, and SOLID principles
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration tools (e.g., Jenkins)
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and JSON/XML parsing
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex issues
• Experience with performance optimization techniques for mobile applications
• Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and best practices
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate and present technical solutions
• Experience with Flutter and Bazel is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail
