Senior Sustaining Mechanical Engineer

Core job responsibilities:  

• Sustain product life cycle such as part change, part redesign due to EOL, cost savings, custom engineering project & continuous improvement project.  
• MFG support such as yield improvement, hardware debugging & MFG continuous improvement.  
• Provide thermal and structural analyses of product.  
• Conduct mechanical engineering verification and validation, such as thermal, structural, acoustic, and other necessary test 
• Work closely with PCB layout, electrical & MFG engineer.  
• Work closely with marketing, sales & other R&D groups to identify, define & execute project. 
• Elect and approve materials, components, or mechanical hardware.  
• Create materials processing specifications for part manufacturing.  
• Certify and support external vendors involved in product/part manufacturing.  
• Support purchasing to ensure quality delivery of all mechanical hardware.  
• Communicate with global colleagues worldwide.  

Qualification:  

• B.S or M.S in mechanical engineering  
• Min 5 years of mechanical design experience.  
• Knowledge of CAD/CAE packages: Pro/E, SolidWorks, AutoCAD  
• Strong understanding of fundamental design principles and process 
• Demonstrated passion for learning about and working with mechanical, manufacturing, and computer technologies. 
• Experience in hardware troubleshooting, debugging & factory support.  
• Take initiative in tackling difficult issues, be a self-starter, and work independently  
• Enjoy problem solving, diagnose technical issues and propose viable solutions  
• Outstanding communication skill with excellent oral & English.  
• LabVIEW is an added advantage. 
• Willingness to travel abroad for work & training purposes.
