1. Management of Subcontractors
• Liaises with subcontractors with regards to planning; logistics; material management; construction and daily site activity issues;
• Coordinates and follow-up with subcontractors on the proper construction approach and sequence of work;
• Assist subcontractors on the reading and understanding of construction drawings;
• Assist the Senior Project Manager, Construction or Senior Manager, Site on the project management of subcontractors’ site activities;
2. Inspection
• Checks and review construction drawings. Identifies discrepancies that require further attention and rectification;
• Carries out daily site inspection with subcontractors and ensures that all construction works are carried out in accordance with requirements and specification;
• Monitors and supervises work as per Quality System/ Inspection test Plan (ITP) acceptance criteria requirements and record in the respective checklists;
3. Defects Management
• Co-ordinates the rectification of captured defective works;
• Ensures closure of compliance rate of captured findings within the stipulated time frame and report on the percentage rate of compliance;
4. Resource Management (Utilization)
• To report to/ update the Senior Manager, Site on the resources (manpower; material; machinery; equipment) of each trade at the work site;
• To ensure that there is no disruption to work due to insufficient resources at the site
• To assist in disciplined material control and arrangement at site (inclusive of wastage of material);
5. Safety & Health
• To ensure that all safety regulations are being implemented and complied with;
• To ensure that all workers at the work site are properly attired and equipped with safety equipment e.g. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) etc;
• Participate in achieving Occupational Health and Safety (OHSAS) implementation.
6. Reporting; Documentation & Work Processes
• Submits periodic reports to the Senior Manager, Site on the discrepancies identified in the construction drawings that requires further attention;
• Submits regular reports to the Senior Manager, Site on work progress at the site;
• Attend to all reporting; documentation and filing as per Quality Management System in accordance with ISO2008 procedures;
• Update and maintain checklist documents;
• Assist the Senior Manager, Site in continuous work process improvement in line with the Quality Management System that is in place;
7. Management of Workers
• Monitors the attendance and punctuality of workers at site. Takes necessary disciplinary action against offenders;
• Reviews performance of workers and provide necessary performance feedback to the Senior Manager, Site.
