SMT Manufacturing Department Engineer

Job Summary

Responsible for product testing operations and management in the SMT workshop to ensure quality standards, equipment functionality, and personnel performance are maintained effectively.

Job Responsibilities

1. Production Management and Scheduling

• Arrange and assign inspection personnel in the SMT workshop to meet production schedules and quality control requirements.

• Oversee day-to-day operations in alignment with the production plan.

• Coordinate workflow, troubleshoot operational issues, and report to supervisors as needed.

2. Quality Control and Production Oversight

• Monitor the progress and quality of SMT product testing processes to ensure compliance with quality standards.

• Inspect product quality during the testing process, resolve issues, and propose continuous improvement measures.

3. Employee Management and Training

• Conduct technical training and clarify job responsibilities for testing staff in the SMT workshop.

• Organize onboarding for new hires and facilitate regular training sessions to enhance technical and soft skills.

4. Equipment Management and Maintenance

• Ensure the proper operation and routine maintenance of testing equipment such as SPI, AOI, first-piece detectors, X-RAY, etc.

• Efficiently allocate and manage testing equipment to maintain safety and high utilization rates.

• Familiarity with equipment from TRI, Parmi, and KY is preferred.

5. Other Responsibilities

• Carry out additional tasks assigned by supervisors.

• Handle urgent production-related issues promptly.

• Complete daily employee performance assessments fairly and accurately.

• Support training and mentoring programs to help new employees improve their skills.

Job Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in a related field.

• 1 to 2 years of working experience.

• Familiar with SMT testing process technologies, including process flow and operational principles.

• Strong cross-functional communication skills and the ability to lead improvement initiatives.

• Proficient in MiniTab, QC Seven Tools, Six Sigma, and other related quality tools.

• Able to communicate effectively with customers.

• Knowledge of evaluation standards for new equipment and materials.

• Proficiency in Mandarin is an added advantage (to liaise with China counterparts).
