Sourcing Assistant Manager (Procurement, Manufacturing) - Rapid Progression

Summarize / Overview of the objective of the role:

The primary objective of this position is to source, negotiate and manage suppliers supporting the company’s manufacturing sites in the region, in a way that minimizes the Company’s overall costs.

This includes supplier selection, tendering, cost estimating and category management.

Core Responsibilities:

• Responsible for sourcing, negotiating and evaluating competitive supply to strive for the best purchase price while maintaining the level of quality, reliability and service.
• Participate and execute a sourcing strategy plan, based on Procurement and Group policies to achieve the best negotiated price.
• Support Senior Manager in planning and executing procurement activities, including identifying potential suppliers for targeted out-sourced product
• Analyse current spending and find areas to improve service, reduce costs, and streamline purchasing activities.
• Support, execute cost savings and find initiative to meet company budgetary costing, work together with stakeholders based on sourcing strategy set to achieve targeted product cost.
• Source out-sourced products and materials required by the company, scheduling and work according to targeted timeline in ensuring seamless purchase plan.
• Support the Planning Team in their planning & inventory management activity as and when needed to ensure no material supply risk.
• Maintain relationships with key stakeholders to work on category requirements and specifications with stakeholder departments
• Collaborate with R&D, marketing and country managers to understand the basic need requirements of the product sourced.
• Execute sourcing strategy plan by working with R&D and QA to align on product taste profile when needed and specification acceptance while collaborating with Halal committee in meeting regulatory compliance.
• Develop and qualify vendors based on Group standard operating procedures and guidelines, and build mutually beneficial relationships.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders from various departments including R&D, marketing, supply planning, finance and quality team to ensure seamless integration of procurement activities
• Understand ISO, FSSC requirements, Incoterm & custom regulatory knowledge to ensure statutory compliance for out-sourced product purchases and incoming shipment
• Establish and maintain supply contracts per the terms and criteria set.
• Maintain procurement records and prepare monthly reports of purchases for reference and analysis
• Support internal/external audit on procurement area for category material in charge.
• Evaluate and monitor vendor performance to achieve continuous improvement for the company
• Any ad-hoc assignments/project management delegate from time to time
• Report problem(s) with regards to the Food Safety Management System to any Food Safety Committee members
• The duties listed are not exhaustive and may be varied from time to time as dictated by the changing needs of the Business. The post holder will be expected to undertake other duties as appropriate and as requested by his/her manager.

Key to success:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Management or equivalent
• Min 5 years’ in a Procurement role, preferably in the food manufacturing co-pack category
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• SAP experience or other ERP tools are an added advantage
• Experience in regional environment and FMCG industry are added advantage
