Job Location: Krubong, Melaka, Malaysia
This position will be located at Krubong, Melaka in a vibrant industrial area. You will experience different exciting local cultures in this historical state.
What you will be doing:
- Own and drive sustaining test engineering activities for optocoupler sensor products in high-volume manufacturing.
- Perform and oversee product testing for functionality, performance and quality compliance
- Measure, collect, and ensure accuracy of electrical and optical test data using appropriate test equipment
- Analyze test data to identify yield trends, variation and improvement opportunities
- Lead yield improvement, test optimization and cost reduction initiatives.
- Drive root cause analysis (RCA) for test failures, yield excursions and customer-related issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Develop, improve and maintain test programs, test hardware and test methodologies.
- Support and lead product characterization, electrical data collection and analysis for product or package changes.
- Verify and ensure test specification feasibility for production and approve specifications in release systems/tools.
- Define and optimize test limits, guard bands, and screening methods to ensure product quality and reliability.
- Lead data analysis and reporting, providing clear summaries and actionable insights to management.
- Lead and support internal/external audits, drive customer technical discussions and manage customer complaints using structured 8D methodology, including root cause analysis (RCA), containment actions and implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Design, FA, Process, Quality) to improve product robustness and manufacturability.
- Drive multi-site/tester correlation and alignment, including support for OSAT operations.
- Utilize and support testing platforms such as Teradyne, Aemulus, Juno, and related handlers
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring and best practice sharing within the engineering team.
What you will bring along:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in semiconductor test engineering, preferably in sustaining/high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Opto-Sensor and analog/mixed-signal testing.
- Hands-on experience with ATE platforms (Teradyne, Aemulus, Juno) and related test handlers
- Proven experience in test program development, test hardware and test methodology optimization.
- Strong capability in yield analysis, yield improvement, failure analysis (FA) and root cause analysis (RCA).
- Proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools (Minitab, Excel, C++ is an advantage)
- Experience in product characterization and electrical test data collection and analysis.
- Solid understanding of test specifications, guard banding and production feasibility validation.
- Strong analytical thinking with excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong experience in supporting internal/external audits, leading customer technical discussions, and managing customer complaints using 8D methodology, including root cause analysis (RCA), containment and implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Hands-on experience with testing equipment, soldering and use of hand/power tools.
- Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with ability to clearly report technical findings.
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment with high ownership
