DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ensure the smooth daily operation of the Diabetes Care Centre.
2. Provide diabetes education and consultation to individuals of all ages and community groups.
3. Offer professional guidance and support to caregivers managing individuals with diabetes.
4. Handle all sales transactions within the Diabetes Care Centre.
5. Act as an ambassador to promote diabetes wellness and prevention as a community service for GKL.
6. Source and update appropriate diabetes information, pamphlets, and posters for the Centre.
7. Direct and guide patient teaching and diabetes activities for nursing staff, maintaining high professional standards.
8. Educate and train GKL nurses in proficient diabetes care management.
9. Organize and coordinate diabetes public forums.
10. Negotiate pricing for glucose monitoring devices, test strips, lancets, and other diabetes products.
11. Serve as a resource person for all diabetes-related public campaigns organized by GKL.
12. Maintain positive public relations with patients, relatives, and staff.
13. Continuously update knowledge through in-service and updated diabetes education.
14. Undertake any related duties as required from time to time.
15. Perform additional duties assigned by the immediate superior.
16. Engage in department and hospital quality indicators.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Diploma or Bachelor of Nursing certification from the Malaysian Nursing Board.
• Diploma holders must have a minimum of 4 years of nursing experience as a Staff Nurse.
• Degree holders must have 2-4 years of nursing experience as a Staff Nurse.

OTHER ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT(S):

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to converse effectively in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and various Chinese dialects.
• Computer literate.
