Penerangan Pekerjaan - State Registered Nurse. Special Diagnostic

Job Description

A. Clinical and Occupational Health Services 

  • Conduct pre-employment medical examinations, annual medical surveillance and fitness-for-work assessments for hospital staff and corporate clients under the supervision of the Occupational Health Physician. 
  • Perform occupational health screening procedures including blood pressure measurement, anthropometry, vision and hearing screening, spirometry, ECG, phlebotomy and point-of-care testing as required. 
  • Assist in monitoring employees exposed to occupational hazards including biological, chemical, physical and ergonomic risks. 
  • Identify early signs of occupational diseases, work-related illnesses and work-related injuries, and initiate appropriate referral and follow-up. 
  • Provide first aid, basic life support and emergency response during workplace incidents within the hospital and during off-site screening activities. 
  • Support return-to-work and work restriction programmes in collaboration with the Occupational Health Doctor and hospital management. 
  • Provide cross-coverage support for Health Screening Unit (HSU) nursing services when required, including wound dressing, basic nursing procedures and health screening activities, in accordance with hospital policy and scope of practice. 
  • Assist in maintaining continuity of care and service delivery during HSU manpower shortages, peak service periods or special screening programmes. 

 B. Health Screening Unit Operations 

  • Coordinate in-hospital and off-site health screening programmes for corporate, industrial and institutional clients. 
  • Organise screening schedules, staffing, equipment and consumables to ensure smooth screening operations. 
  • Ensure infection prevention and control practices are adhered to during all screening activities. 
  • Liaise with client representatives, HR departments and internal hospital units regarding screening logistics and requirements. 
  • Assist in explaining health screening results to clients within the scope of nursing practice and hospital policy. 

 C. Health Promotion and Staff Wellness 

  • Participate in hospital staff wellness programmes including vaccination, lifestyle modification, smoking cessation and stress management initiatives.  Conducts health education sessions, talks and campaigns for hospital staff and external clients. 
  • Support ergonomics awareness and musculoskeletal health programmes within the hospital. 

 D. Marketing and Corporate Engagement 

  • Support the promotion and marketing of KPJ Bandar Maharani occupational health and health screening services. 
  • Participate in corporate engagement activities such as site visits, roadshows, exhibitions and health campaigns. 
  • Assist in preparing service proposals, quotations, presentations and marketing materials. 
  • Work closely with the hospital marketing and business development team to expand corporate and industrial client base. 
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients to enhance service quality and repeat business. 

 E. Documentation and Records Management 

  • Maintain accurate, complete and confidential medical records in accordance with KPJ policies and legal requirements. 
  • Manage electronic and physical records related to occupational health surveillance and health screening. 
  • Prepare summary reports, statistics and trend analyses for hospital management and corporate clients. 
  • Ensure timely submission of reports and compliance with audit requirements. 

 F. Computer and Information System Responsibilities 

  • Use hospital electronic medical record systems and occupational health databases efficiently. 
  • Perform accurate data entry, verification and basic data analysis. 
  • Prepare reports, correspondence and presentations using standard office software. 
  • Ensure data confidentiality and compliance with hospital data protection policies. 

 G. Administrative and Operational Support 

  • Manage inventory of screening equipment, medical supplies and consumables. 
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance, calibration and quality control activities. 
  • Assist with billing documentation, invoicing support and administrative processes related to occupational health services. 

 H. Compliance, Quality and Professional Development 

  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Act, relevant MOH guidelines and KPJ Healthcare policies. 
  • Participate in internal audits, quality improvement initiatives and standard operating procedure development. 
  • Maintain professional nursing standards and continuous professional development. 

Education: 

  • Minimum SPM with 2-5 years’ experience 
  • Diploma in nursing. 
  • Certified Occupational Health Nursing qualification is preferred. 

 

Knowledge and Experiences: 

  • 5 years’ experience in managing a healthcare facility or clinic. 
  • Clinical background such as nursing with post basic. 

 

Skills & Competencies: 

  • Experience in occupational health, health screening or hospital-based services is an advantage. 
  • Knowledge of occupational health legislation, health surveillance and workplace hazards is desirable. 
  • Computer literate with experience in electronic medical records and office software. 
  • Strong clinical and assessment skills. 
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Good organisational and documentation skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. 
  • Client-focused mindset with basic marketing awareness. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. 

Working Conditions 

  • Hospital-based duties with off-site corporate health screening assignments. 
  • May require travel within Johor for corporate or industrial clients. 
  • Flexible working hours during mass screening or hospital programmes.
