Technical Executive, Maritime (Dock) - Start Immediately

JOB SUMMARY AND OBJECTIVES 

Responsible for planning, organising, leading and managing Maritime department’s docking operation, resource utilisation, work schedules, policies, procedures and job execution in order to ensure meet project schedule, cost effective, quality, safety and within budget.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITY

WORK SCHEDULING

• To manage the day to day safe operations of the maritime docking functions. This to include the safe Docking / un-docking operations. To manage the dock block arrangement, dock diving operations, docking personal, dock trials, vessel setting arrangement, and joint dock operation with shipyard. The safe docking of the vessels and to assist services for the vessel like fendering, barge operation, load outs etc.

JOB EXECUTION

• To assist department manager to plan manage and control job execution to ensure tasks are performed to meet business targets, budget, Quality, Safety, yard / clients’ specification and customer satisfaction in terms of materials, man hours, resources, facilities and overtime cost. Objective of ensuring efficient and cost effective implementation are in accordance with contractual requirements.

HSE REQUIREMENTS

• Lead the implementation of HSE initiatives in Maritime Department and inculcate HSE in all its work area and among its staff / workers to ensure compliance to HSE requirements and to develop HSE as the MMHE Marine Repair Business Unit work-culture. Prepare detailed planning and scheduling for anchor repair and ship’s gear load test operations in coordination with project schedule. Have sound technical knowledge based on yard standards, classification society rules, Marine legal regulations and rules and safety codes and standards.

POLICIES & PROCEDURES

• Prepare, analyze, collate, communicate and submit Inspection Reports / Test Records / Work Completion Reports to provide required evidences as well as to recommend corrective actions if required, to keep STE / HOD / PMT informed for further action(s).To ensure full compliance to all procedures and processes relevant and contained within the Department Manual, QMS, QHSE Manual and as implemented by the management.

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS

• Identify and conduct training & proficiency development programs / refresher courses, in consultation with Lead Department, for staff / subordinates / contractors in order to establish a culture of continual improvement and enhance professionalism.

RESOURCE UTILIZATION

• Plan, manage and report to Lead Department on resource utilization in relation to manpower loading, equipment and facilities in order to meet contractual requirements comprising technical specifications, delivery, and schedule and customer satisfaction with the objective of achieving optimized resource utilization to facilitate Management decision-making.

IMPROVEMENT INITIATIVES

• Lead and execute Maritime department’s improvement initiatives in relation to the introduction / enhancement of new / existing systems & processes, infrastructure, industry best practices, competencies and capabilities to ensure service improvements and productivity objectives are achieved. To practice continual improvement and provide training and proficiency enhancement guidance to all subordinates.
