Technical Head - Geotechnical

• A technical role with heavy involvement in both the technical and commercial sides of the business unit.
  
• Leads the Technical Department team members across the countries above.
  
• Supports Business Development during tenders and Operations during project delivery, on all technical and design matters.
  
• Gives technical support to the wider regional team as it expands into new countries.
  
• Prepares and reviews technical and commercial proposals for ground improvement projects using techniques
  

Job Description (Duties)

1. Report directly to the Hring Manager and be accountable for everything handled by the Technical Departments across the business unit.
   
2. Be the technical focal point with clients, consultants, contractors and authorities on technical and commercial matters. This includes getting reliable design parameters, preparing the best solutions and following up on proposals.
   
3. Provide technical support throughout the sales process (meetings, presentations, technical discussions, negotiations), turning client needs into suitable technical solutions.
   
4. Act as the technical link between customers, BD, engineering, operations and suppliers, so that specifications, scope of work, performance requirements and project constraints are clear.
   
5. Lead the Technical Departments in preparing and reviewing technical proposals, and give technical input to commercial proposals during tenders.
   
6. Oversee and review detailed engineering designs, and lead design coordination meetings to get timely approval from clients and consultants.
   
7. Lead, develop and manage the Technical Departments' engineers: resourcing, workload planning, mentoring and performance management.
   
8. Support the Operations Departments during project delivery, including:
   
   • detailed design submissions
     
   • method statements
     
   • instrumentation and monitoring reports
     
   • pre- and post-treatment testing reports
     
   • final technical reports
     
   • as-built drawings
     
9. Carry out technical marketing: seminar presentations, exhibitions, promotional client visits, marketing materials and technical papers.
   
10. Take on other related tasks delegated by the Business Unit Manager.
    
11. Offer technical support to the wider regional team.
    

Requirements

• At least a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil).
  
• A post-graduate degree and/or Professional Engineer status in Geotechnical Engineering is an advantage.
  
• Must be competent in geotechnical software (e.g. PLAXIS, Slope/W).
  
• Minimum 10 years in related fields; managerial experience preferred.
  
• Extensive knowledge of Geotechnical Engineering and Ground Improvement Technology.
  
• Fluent English
  
• Malaysian citizen or relevant residence status.
  
• A good team player who can work independently with minimum supervision.
