Temp Summer Camp Teacher/Assistant Teacher

The participants are international school students that are having their summer camp at our client International School, Iskandar Puteri. Johor.

Project status : 22nd July 2024 until 16th August 2024 (1 month) – Contract will be under PERSOLKELLY.

Salary : RM4000 for Teacher, RM2800 for Assistant Teacher

Working hours : Monday to Friday

Working hours : 8am to 5pm

Job Description:

Position Overview:

The English Summer Camp Teacher is responsible for designing and implementing engaging and educational activities to enhance the English language skills of camp participants during the summer break. The teacher will create a fun and supportive learning environment conducive to language acquisition, cultural exchange, and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Curriculum Development:

a) Develop age-appropriate lesson plans and materials focused on English language learning, incorporating speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.

b) Tailor curriculum to meet the needs and interests of diverse groups of campers, considering their language proficiency levels and cultural backgrounds.

2. Instruction and Facilitation:

a) Deliver interactive and dynamic English language lessons using a variety of teaching methods, such as games, role-plays, storytelling, and arts and crafts.

b) Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where campers feel comfortable practicing English and expressing themselves creatively.

c) Provide constructive feedback and support to campers to help them improve their language skills and build confidence in using English.

3. Activity Planning and Supervision:

a) Plan and organize daily activities, excursions, and cultural events that promote language learning and cultural understanding.

b) Supervise campers during activities, ensuring their safety and well-being while encouraging active participation and engagement.

c) Collaborate with other camp staff members to coordinate logistics and ensure smooth operation of the summer camp program.

4. Assessment and Progress Monitoring:

a) Assess campers' language proficiency and progress through informal observation,

participation in activities, and periodic evaluations.

b) Maintain accurate records of campers' performance and development, documenting strengths, areas for improvement, and achievements.

c) Communicate regularly with campers and their families to provide updates on progress and recommendations for continued language learning beyond the summer camp.

5. Professional Development:

a) Stay current with best practices in English language teaching, multicultural education, and youth development.

b) Seek opportunities for professional growth and training to enhance teaching skills and knowledge in relevant areas.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Linguistics, or a related field. (SPM can also be considered as long as with relevant experience.)

2. Teaching experience, preferably in ESL/EFL settings

3. Proficiency in English, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

4. Cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively with diverse groups of learners.

5. Creativity, enthusiasm, and a passion for education and youth development.
