  •  You’ll be at the heart of our crop innovation, directly influencing the success of our breeding and commercial trials. 
  • Work closely with Breeding, Sales, and Supply Chain teams, gaining exposure to multiple departments and stakeholders. 
  • You’ll manage your own trial plans and locations, giving you the freedom to shape your work and make a real difference. 

Make a difference as Trial Specialist

As a Trial Specialist, you’ll be at the forefront of our research and development efforts, ensuring our varieties are tested thoroughly and effectively. You’ll work in a dynamic environment where autonomy, collaboration, and impact go hand in hand. Next to that, you'll: 

  • Conduct (internal) trials in various crops as planned with the R&D Seed Production Specialist. Follow phytosanitary protocols during trial execution. Create standard protocols for sowing schedules.
  • Harvest and extract seeds with proper labeling. Implement protocols from extraction to delivery.
  • Manage the agronomy of trials: develop effective agronomy practices to meet production targets, ensure proper care and treatment of crops, adhere to crop-specific agronomy according to trial requirements, maintain trials for accurate observations and timely selections, and keep records of agronomy practices.
  • Collection and administration of trial data according to given requirements.
  • Coordinate with the farm team for activity planning and trial maintenance. Plan and communicate material needs quarterly, aligning with seed production plans and general purchases for approval.
  • Prepare planning and allocate activities, ensure timely execution of activities, and solve bottlenecks with stakeholders Provide functional training to the workforce.
  • Implement standard phytosanitation procedures.
  • Timely reporting on trials and stock requirements to various stakeholders.

What you bring as a future colleague  

As a Trial Specialist, you are hands-on, precise, and passionate about crop cultivation. You enjoy working in the field as much as behind the screen, and you know how to turn trial data into valuable insights. You’re comfortable working independently, but also thrive in close collaboration with growers, breeders, and internal teams. You understand the importance of following protocols and maintaining high standards, especially when it comes to quality and phytosanitary compliance. 

You’re someone who takes initiative, communicates clearly, and knows how to organize trial activities from start to finish. You’re motivated by contributing to sustainable innovation in agriculture and enjoy being part of a team that’s shaping the future of vegetable breeding. 

In short, you: 

  • Associate’s degree in agronomics background with 2 to 3 years of relevant experience; 
  • Strong affinity with crop cultivation and working with growers; 
  • Excellent communications skills both verbally and written;
  • Skilled in data handling, people management, planning and task prioritizations;
  • Able to work independently and under pressure, with a proactive mindset;
  • Occasionally working outside in different weather conditions;
  • Care should be taken when using chemicals to protect own health and that of colleagues.
