Veterinary Nurse - Professional Development Opportunities

1. Assist veterinarian during consultations, examinations, treatments & surgery

2. Coordinate patient admission and discharge

3. Care for hospitalized animals, including wound management and bandaging support, feeding and exercising

4. Assist with surgery preparations by clipping and shaving fur or hair, swabbing the skin

5. Give medication to animals under the direction of a veterinarian

6. Maintain hygiene by cleaning and disinfecting animal cages, floors, benchtops, consulting rooms, waiting rooms and surgeries

7. Sterilize instruments, dressings and other equipment

8. Maintain stock control of medicines, bandages, cotton wool, syringes and other equipment

9. Ensure equipment is in good working order

10. Perform reception duties, including answering the telephone, making appointments, preparing accounts, accepting payments and writing receipts

11. Record and maintain clinical and office records of animals attending the surgery (usually on a computer).

Requirements:

1. Must be able to work with dogs and cats.

2. Comfortable holding and restraining both dogs and cats.

3. Candidate must possess at least SPM / Diploma in animal science/healthcare

4. Fresh graduates/Entry level applicants are encouraged to apply.

Remuneration will be based on work performance and experience.
