- Direct and oversee all warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of products to ensure efficient and timely operations.
- Lead and motivate warehouse staff to achieve departmental goals and targets. Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure all team members perform at their best.
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to accurately track stock levels, minimize discrepancies, and optimize inventory turnover. Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies as needed.
- Ensure that all products are handled and stored safely and securely to prevent damage or spoilage.
- Implement quality control measures to maintain product integrity and uphold company standards.
- Enforce safety regulations and guidelines to create a safe working environment for warehouse staff.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, address any safety concerns, and ensure compliance with OSHA (Occupational Safety And Health Act) regulations.
- Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems. Coordinate repairs and servicing as necessary to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements within the warehouse operations. Implement changes and initiatives to streamline workflows, reduce costs, and enhance productivity.
- Work closely with other departments, such as sales, logistics, procurement, and customer service, to coordinate activities and address any issues or concerns promptly. (prevent stockouts and overstock situations)
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics related to warehouse operations, such as order fulfilment rates, inventory accuracy, and on-time delivery performance. Take corrective action as needed to meet targets and objectives.
- Coordinate meetings, events and training sessions as needed.
- Undertake any other job functions assigned by management from time to time.
