Workshop Supervisor – Job Scope

Project / Work Orders

1. Lead, coordinate and supervise the team of technician and fitters.
2. Organize workshop and make preparation of project items for execution of work orders so that workshop can meet the output target minimum 90% each month based on workshop factory fitting assembly work orders planning.
3. Communicate and liaise closely with Customer Service CS Team for the work orders to be executed and completed before the ship date.
4. Update Sales CS Team if there is any problem encountered which will impact the completion / ship date of the orders.
5. Ensure the fitting, tools and consumable item are recorded, maintain the inventory and keep in good condition.

Safety

1. Apply and practice all activities in workshop and comply with HSE standards as specified by the Group safety policy or local safety rules and regulations.
2. Manage / Supervise the sub-contractor ensuring they are complying to safety rules / requirements when they are carrying out the work / tests in the workshop.
3. Conduct risk assessments and strictly follow safe operating procedures.
4. Responsible to stop any unsafe activity.

Workshop

1. Develop and implement best practices on any given job/project.
2. Responsible to improve factory fitting assembly process to enhance the quality and maximize workshop efficiency and productivity
3. Acquire and print out the related technical drawings, diagrams, specifications, manuals and other necessary documents for the workshop to make reference and completing the work orders.
4. Ensure good communication and possesses the ability to work as part of a team with other departments while maintaining independent thinking.
5. Consult with Application Engineering Team / technical staff on various products and applications when necessary
6. Make good / rebuild the faulty assemblies meeting product quality and operational requirements
7. Manage manpower and sub-contract labour/intern
8. Responsible to provide and supervise appropriate training to the technicians in order to develop and maintain a well trained workforce
9. Assisting warehouse team in conducting annual stock takes, and receiving goods when warehouse team is not available.
10. Suggest to management for improvements to he department’s operations
11. Set goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with company’s plans and vision and communicate them to subordinates
12. Maintain good relationship within the internal and external parties

Quality

1. Supervise the workshop technicians and ensuring the final products made are tested and meeting quality targets / projects / client's requirements.
2. Utilize good technical expertise to provide technical instruction / training, supervision and demonstration within the workshop.
3. Manage the inhouse quality problem / NCR complaints.
4. Generate the FAT reports and videos for the project orders and upload / archive the files in project folders.
5. Rectify / Repair the wrong assemblies to meet the end application requirements.
6. Enhance the quality of actuation system via improvement in factory fitting assembly processes.

Continuous Improvement, Lean, 5S and Housekeeping

1. Rotork provides opportunities to upskills and attend in house / external courses to enable one to acquire the skills, product knowledge, lean techniques etc for the purpose of continuous improvement to the department / company.
2. Learn and comprehend the Rotork products and provides guidance to technicians / contracts / intern student to complete the factory fitting assembly work and testing of products.
3. Apply lean manufacture knowledge on workshop activities and work processes to increase the workshop efficiency.
4. Upkeep housekeeping and cleanliness of the workshop.

Maintain Tools, Machinery and Equipment

1. Organize and maintain tool storage system keeping tools in good working condition.
2. Replace the tools which are found already worn off or unsafe to use.
3. Follow up the maintenance schedule of the machinery equipment in workshop.
4. When necessary, repair / replace the minor defects or faulty equipment and machinery.
5. Responsible for budgets for the purchase of materials, fixings and fastenings and machine tools to ensure smooth progression of projects though the workshop.

• Degree in Engineering field.
• PW4 - Electrical licence
• 3+ Years of experience
• Good in Problem Solving skills & Time Management.
• Analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.

- Can work under high pressure (time constrain)

- Familiar with workshop environment

- Good Forklift Handling is an advantage.
