Application Developer Analyst II

Key Responsibilities

• Have technical experience and are in the process of acquiring a broader knowledge of various technical areas
• Translate business requirements into software, communications, and equipment requirements for application development
• Perform feasibility studies, translate requirements into an appropriate design, formulate and define application scope and objectives, and under the guidance of a project lead, implement complete solutions
• Prepare detailed specifications from which applications will be written Implement appropriate data security solutions when necessary
• Ensure business application systems are developed in a way that complies with architectural standards and established methodologies and practices
• Create, modify, and test programming code themselves, provide technical consulting support on projects or system issues and prepare operations and user documentation
• Contribute technical knowledge and may be expected to give direction to both PPG employees and contract programmers on specific projects or project phases
• Understand the procedures and expected system performance associated with the technologies they are utilizing
• Respond appropriately to system maintenance requests and use their analytical abilities and technical skills to isolate problems, fix immediate needs, analyze all ramifications and implement solutions
• Have Technical experience at an in-depth level and are in the process of acquiring a broader knowledge of various technical areas and project management skills
• Share responsibility with other team members to ensure on-time product delivery, which require a clear understanding of expectations and capabilities as well as the ability to act effectively as a team member

Qualifications

• A four year degree or higher in Information Systems Management, Computer Science, Engineering, Chemistry, a related discipline or equivalent experience or equivalent technical training
• 1.5 years+ of IT or a related discipline experience
• Analytical and conceptual skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including technical writing
• Can foster and maintain good relationships with customers and IT colleagues to meet expected customer service levels
• Ability to act as an effective team member
• Possess emerging coaching skills and may coach other team members
• Must be comfortable working remotely and lack of face to face time with colleagues and managers
• Understanding of the Agile development methodology
