Job Description:

Chambering/Pupil 1.Legal Research: Conducting legal research on various issues relevant to cases handled by the law firm. This includes researching case law, statutes, regulations, and legal precedents to support the firm's legal arguments. 2.Drafting Legal Documents: Assisting in drafting legal documents such as contracts, agreements, pleadings, affidavits, and legal opinions. This helps law students develop their drafting skills and familiarize themselves with legal terminology and formats. 3.Courtroom Observations: Accompanying supervising lawyers to court proceedings, hearings, and trials to observe courtroom etiquette, procedures, and strategies. This provides law students with valuable insight into advocacy skills and courtroom dynamics. 4.Client Interaction: Assisting in client meetings, interviews, and consultations under the guidance of supervising lawyers. This may involve gathering information, explaining legal processes, and providing updates on case progress. 5.Legal Writing: Writing legal memoranda, briefs, and correspondence to clients, opposing counsel, and other relevant parties. This helps law students refine their writing skills and learn how to effectively communicate complex legal concepts in writing. 6.Ethical Compliance: Adhering to professional ethics and confidentiality requirements in all aspects of work. Law students undergoing chambering must maintain the highest standards of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism in their interactions with clients, colleagues, and the court. 7.Feedback and Evaluation: Receiving feedback and performance evaluations from supervising lawyers to identify areas for improvement and track progress during the chambering period. This feedback helps law students develop their legal skills and competencies.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Chambering Student/Pupil : a) Recognized academic and professional qualifications for
law practice in Malaysia;
b) Good interpersonal and communication skills;
c) Written and spoken proficiencies in both English and the
Malay languages;
d) Computer literate;
e) Willingness to learn; and
f) Have own transport.
