An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced Procurement Team Lead to join an established paper manufacturing company. This role is responsible for improving purchasing strategies, managing, developing, and implementing procurement strategies for long-term contract negotiations, cost savings, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods as well as import documentation preparation.

What you'll do:
As a Procurement Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the procurement strategies of our organisation. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve analysing purchasing strategies, driving sourcing projects, building relationships with stakeholders and vendors, maintaining supplier databases, liaising with supply chain teams, driving cost-saving initiatives, and managing supplier sourcing initiatives. Your commitment to these tasks will directly contribute to the overall success of operations.

• Analyse and improve purchasing strategies while independently driving sourcing projects for internal user needs
• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and vendors to provide inputs on user needs
• Ensure accurate maintenance of supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation
• Liaise with relevant supply chain teams to ensure delivery of goods and maintenance of healthy inventory levels
• Drive cost savings initiatives, considering potential goods commonly used across business units
• Manage supplier sourcing initiatives, negotiations, contract awarding, data gathering and identifying key contacts

What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Procurement Team Lead position brings extensive knowledge in paper materials and other manufacturing goods as well as sourcing and procurement processes. You should have a tertiary qualification in Supply Chain or a related field of study along with at least five years' experience in sourcing and procurement functions. Experience with an ERP system would be advantageous. You should possess strong analytical skills, be influential in your operations process driven approach, focused on accuracy, proactive in resolving conflicts, have a strong sense of urgency, possess excellent interpersonal skills and have strong stakeholder management capabilities.

• Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain or related field of study
• Minimum of five years' experience in sourcing and procurement functions. Experience with Paper/Packaging materials is advantageous
• Experience with LMW is an added advantage
• Experience with an ERP system is beneficial
• Strong analytical skills coupled with influential decision-making abilities
• Proactive approach towards conflict resolution and planning ahead for the business
• Excellent interpersonal skills with strong stakeholder management capability
