Job Description

• Customised Python development : contribute to internal and/or external libraries by raising issues, adding documentation and/or contributing new features; write clean, re-usable code, expertise in optimizing code, and the ability to perform code reviews for colleagues
• Data Domain knowledge : proven understanding of data sources and data and analytics requirements in Python and text mining with experience in data analysis or other enterprise platform operations activities.
• Right approach/tool choice : deep understanding of a wide range of commonly available Data Science approaches and tools and choose the right ones to solve the problem
• Data Manipulation : understand the lifecycle of the data and the data systems deployed in your team; make changes to the data tech stack; write and maintain advanced data pipelines; have expert Python skills; handle all types of data (e.g., streaming, structured, unstructured data)
• NLP and Machine Learning : understand and have applied a range of Natural Language Processing and machine learning methods to build data science algorithms (e.g., text mining and sentiment analysis)
• Operationalising Data : Proven expertise in bringing data and operations to scale, previous experiences including platforms such AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Scalability, Reliability, Maintenance : proven experience in building scalable and re-usable systems and automating operations

Qualifications

• An experienced Data Automation expert with the ability to understand various data structures and standard methods in data collection activity and transformation would be an asset.
• More than 4 years of working experience with good pattern recognition, web scraping, text mining, machine learning and predictive modelling skills is highly desirable.
• Able to prototype and deploy text mining and other NLP and machine learning models.
• Deep understanding of language processing technologies and language models.
• Experience with AWS, Azure or GCP Data Science framework/tools will be an advantage.
• Work independently or in a team to solve complex problem statements
• Work closely to provide cross-functional solutions for the various business units to develop various descriptive, predictive or prescriptive models.
• Confidently solve business problems by proposing automation solutions, explore various approaches to validate business findings and hypothesis, and finally articulate these findings and methodologies used.
• Be directly involved in running experimentation projects in a methodical manner and regularly evaluate alternate models via theoretical approaches.
• Strong desire to solve tough problems with a can-do attitude.
• Think out of the box and innovate in all possible perspectives.
• Ability to write and present results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Developers who are keen to transition to Data Science will be considered.

• Fluency in English is a must.
