Penerangan Pekerjaan - Senior Manager/ Manager, Claims

Senior Manager/ Manager, Claims (Marine)

  • Lead, manage and handle Non-motor claim according to line of business i.e. marine claims.
  • Review and develop new policies / guidelines / procedures and processes workflows as required.
  • Investigate, negotiate, recommend or settle claims within authority in accordance with Company policy.
  • Oversee/manage claims in such a way as to maintain the Company's reputation for high quality standard and customers satisfactions (prompt and fair dealings).
  • Review/follow up on all outstanding claims on regular basis to ensure claims reserve are adequate and status updated. Maintain a low pending ratio of outstanding claims (prompt disposal of claims to reduce numbers of outstanding files).
  • Implement effective subrogation recovery actions against third parties to mitigate company’s losses.
  • Inform and update management on adverse claims trend so that corrective underwriting actions could be implemented. Identify and recommend risk improvement measures as appropriate.
  • Supervise, motivate, train and guide subordinate staff in all aspects of claims processing and maintaining discipline of staff working under you. Monitor performance of subordinates.
  • Maintain high level of customer satisfaction for all claims services provided through measurement of Net Promoter Score (NPS) so to enhance customer’s experience with the Company.
  • Handle major large losses / event losses / complicated / litigated claims i.e. preparation of Major Loss Advice (MLR), preliminary loss / development and settlement loss / cash calls advices to co/reinsurers on timely manner. Keep Reinsurance and Finance advised of any material claims as set in the claims manual / procedures and work with Reinsurance to effect recoveries.
  • Provide professional advice and support to subordinates, Marketing units and Branch personnel in claims management and operations.
  • Review and identify both functions and processes for improvement to maximize efficiency of available resources, subject to compliance with approved governance framework.
  • Initiate improvement plan and execution to improve turnaround time for claims settlement and payment.
  • Collaborate with our internal and external partners in synergizing the overall development of the company wide’s goals are met.
  • Participate in projects / initiatives of the department / company.
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements
  • Degree in any discipline, and preferably with insurance related qualification such as AMII, ACII, AII and DMII.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Claims Management and has led a team.
  • Sound knowledge and experience in all aspects of Claims.
  • Strong product knowledge.
  • Broad business knowledge on market trends and practices to manage the portfolio and track performance.
  • Team player with strong leadership and management skills to deliver the Company corporate objectives and business plan.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen.
