Responsibilities

Reporting to: Executive Assistant, Training Manager, Programme Manager

FUNCTIONS

1. Support and assist MMHA staff in daily operations from Monday to Friday.

2. Participate in weekend operations, events or trainings.

3. Follow directives of the supervisors and comply with policies and procedures as outlined by MMHA.

DUTIES

1. Generic and Administrative Duties

1.1. Fill up intern's task-tracking sheet every day.

1.2. Be on standby for reception duties at MMHA PJ.

1.3. Pick up calls and answer enquiries when needed.

1.4. Record enquiries from walk-ins and redirect them to the respective departments.

1.5. Redirect social media enquiries to relevant staff.

1.6. Issue payment receipts to clients or caregivers.

1.7. Ensure all clients' case note files are tidy and up to date.

2. Social Media

2.1. Set up Google Alert for any news concerning mental health and update tracking sheet regularly.

2.2. Plan and design social media postings every week.

2.3. Update MMHA Social Media Plan for future postings.

3. Mental Health First Aid Course (MHFA)

3.1. Attend one MHFA course as institutional training

3.2. Prepare items needed before training.

3.3. Tidy up MHFA databases 

3.4. Printing of certificates and badges.

3.5. Arrange delivery of certificates and badges.

4. Wellness and Recovery Programme (WnRP)

4.1. Assist staff in preparing and facilitating rehab activities for clients.

4.2. Prepare proposals for activities that promote psychosocial wellness.

4.3. Assist staff in refining SOPs, Forms, Databases and other important documentations.

4.4. Assist staff in client registration including filling of forms and Bio-psychosocial interview

4.5. Assist the staff in preparing SWOT (activity) reports.

4.6. Assist the staff in filling in databases.

4.7. Highlighting necessary concerns regarding client's wellbeing.

4.8. Encourage clients to participate in the activities.

4.9. Interact and talk to the clients on a day-to-day basis.

5. Caregiver Support & Education Program, Caregivers and Peers Support Group

5.1. Support and assist staff in preparing broadcast messages for the Caregiver and Peer Support Whatsapp Group.

5.2. Assist staff in logistics matters for the Caregiver Support & Education Program.

5.3 Search for reliable mental health helplines and apps. 

6. Public, Caregiver Education and Advocacy

6.1. Assist and support the Management Committee in advocacy, public education and mental health promotion activities like exhibitions, promotion campaigns, public forum or seminar held outside MMHA premises with the assistance of other staff, Committee Members or Volunteers.

7. Others

7.1. Assist in any other activities as directed by the Supervisors or Management Committee.

*All interns must attend one compulsory debriefing session by MMHA's trainee counselor by the end of the internship. In the event if the intern needed more sessions, the intern can submit the request to the onsite supervisor.
