Job Description

We are seeking an analytical, tech-savvy, and detail-oriented Marketing Technology Intern to support the MOVE Treats initiative within the MOVE app ecosystem. Backed by key industry partners including the Malaysia Retail Chain Association (MRCA) and Tourism Malaysia, MOVE Treats connects users to premier retail, dining, and lifestyle perks across the country.

In this role, you will bridge the gap between marketing operations, commercial partnerships, and digital systems. You will assist in maintaining core MarTech platforms, tracking merchant-level collateral distribution, verifying data integrity, and conducting user acceptance testing (UAT) to optimize user and merchant experiences.

Job Description

• Marketing System Administration: Assist in maintaining and operating core marketing technology tools, customer engagement engines, and campaign management workflows.
• On-Ground & Merchant Collateral Operations: Coordinate and audit point-of-sale (POS) materials and visual merchandising displays across participating merchant outlets to ensure brand visibility and partner compliance.
• Database Accuracy & Compliance: Perform routine audits and data hygiene routines across merchant databases, partner records, and customer lists to maintain data integrity and regulatory standards.
• System Enhancements: Ensure regular app feature updates, website enhancements, and redemption-flow optimizations, documenting bugs and edge cases.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside marketing managers, commercial partnership leads, and technical product teams to streamline operational workflows for MRCA- and Tourism Malaysia-aligned campaigns.
• Reporting & Documentation: Support ad-hoc campaign tracking, system process documentation, and basic performance analysis for internal stakeholders and external partners.

Minimum Requirements : 

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Data Science, Marketing Technology, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a closely related discipline.
• Foundational understanding of CRM concepts, digital marketing workflows, or customer database structures.
• Basic data literacy with proficiency in spreadsheet tools
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Proven attention to detail and a systematic approach to operational problem-solving.

Experience and Qualifications : 

• Prior academic coursework, projects, or internship exposure involving MarTech tools, CRM systems, or SQL/relational databases.
• Hands-on experience executing UAT, test scripts, or quality assurance checks on mobile applications and responsive web platforms. 
• Familiarity with retail merchandising, POS setup, or merchant operations within the Malaysian retail/tourism landscape.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment and liaise professionally with external retail partners.
