Join Maxis as a Network Operations & Digital Assurance Intern (FTTx), where you will gain hands-on experience supporting network operations, service assurance, and digital monitoring activities. This role offers exposure to real-world telecommunications operations, alarm and performance monitoring, and service assurance workflows, while working closely with operational teams in a fast-paced network environment.
1. Operational Monitoring & Validation
Support daily operational activities, including alarm monitoring and network performance validation.
Assist in preparing routine operational reports and status updates for the team.
2. Alarm & Performance Analysis
Perform basic analysis of alarm and performance data to identify trends or anomalies.
Escalate identified abnormalities or recurring issues to relevant operational teams in a timely manner.
3. FTTx Service Assurance Support (First-Level)
Provide first-level support for daily FTTx service assurance cases.
Assist with initial troubleshooting, service impact verification, and case status updates.
4. System Updates & Data Housekeeping
Update outage and service information in operational systems such as Outage Tracker.
Perform system updates, data clean-up, and performance instance housekeeping to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
5. Digital Tools Monitoring & Automation Support
Monitor operational dashboards, including QoE performance views, and provide timely updates to the team.
Assist in supporting basic automation initiatives and operational workflow improvements.
The intern will have the opportunity to participate in a value-added operational improvement project focused on enhancing operational efficiency and service visibility. This may include:
Analysing recurring alarm and performance trends
Supporting dashboard enhancements or reporting improvements using digital tools
Assisting in process standardisation and data clean-up initiatives to improve service assurance effectiveness
This project provides practical exposure to network operations, digital assurance, and service reliability in a live telecommunications environment.
Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Network Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Technical Skills
Basic understanding of networking or IT operations concepts
Familiarity with Microsoft Excel for basic data analysis
Knowledge of Power BI and/or Power Automate is an advantage but not mandatory
Willingness to learn operational systems, dashboards, and monitoring tools
Soft Skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes
Analytical mindset with problem identification capability
Good communication skills for reporting and escalation
Responsible, proactive, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment
Gain hands-on experience in network operations and digital service assurance.
Learn how FTTx services are monitored, supported, and optimised in a live network environment.
Work closely with experienced operational teams using real systems and dashboards.
Build a strong foundation for a career in telecommunications, network operations, or service assurance.
Starting March, up to 6 months.
