We are seeking a passionate and creative individual to join our team as a Children's Art & Craft Teacher Assistant. The ideal candidate will have a love for working with children, a strong passion for arts and crafts, and the ability to assist the lead teacher in creating a nurturing and inspiring learning environment. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys fostering creativity, developing artistic skills, and contributing to the overall growth and development of young minds.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Lead Teacher: Collaborate with the lead teacher to plan and implement age-appropriate art and craft activities. Provide support in organizing and setting up art supplies and materials for each class.
- Supervise and Engage: Supervise children during art and craft sessions, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment. Encourage creativity and self-expression while maintaining a positive and respectful atmosphere.
- Demonstrate Techniques: Demonstrate various art and craft techniques, guiding children in the exploration of different mediums and materials. Assist in teaching fundamental artistic skills while allowing for individual expression.
- Classroom Management: Assist in maintaining a well-organized and tidy art studio or classroom space. Foster a sense of responsibility and respect for materials among the children.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with parents, providing updates on children's progress and sharing highlights of their artistic endeavours. Collaborate with colleagues and attend team meetings to contribute ideas and insights.
- Adaptability: Be flexible and adaptable to the needs of the children and the program. Assist in modifying activities to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: SPM, STPM or Certificates in early childhood education, art or related field.
- Experience: Candidates with or without relevant experience are encouraged to apply as training will be provided.
Skillsets:
- Communication: Good command of spoken and written English, Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese.
- Creativity: Strong artistic and creative skills with the ability to inspire and encourage children's creativity.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage positively with children, parents and colleagues.
- Passion for Education: A genuine passion for working with children and contributing to their educational and creative development.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members.
