The Role
Reporting to: Director of Music
Marlborough College Malaysia requires a Piano teacher to work within its Music Department and assist pupils in their development, primarily through one-to-one instrumental lessons. There may also be opportunities for the successful candidate to become an active contributor to the co-curricular programme in the College through leading larger music ensembles. Using a range of interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with pupils, the individual will be required to utilise knowledge of learning strategies and values of the College to contribute to the progress made by students in their musical development.

In addition, we are seeking to employ a person with the following qualities, experience, skills and abilities:
Hours of Work
The position is hourly paid (RM122/RM132 per hour) and teaching takes place during term time (30+ weeks per year). It is essential that applicants are able to offer the commitment that the College requires to pupils, and be available for teaching between the hours of 7.30am to 6pm. There are currently about three days of teaching available each week and it is hoped that the successful candidate will be able to raise the profile of pianists within the College to attract more pupils. As long as lessons are taught within College hours, the successful candidate may dictate when they work during any given week in liaison with the Music Department Coordinator. For staff living outside of Johor, a travel allowance is provided.
