Accountant with AppFolio experience

The Accountant will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations within our organization. This role requires expertise in AppFolio , a comprehensive property management software, to ensure accurate and efficient financial processes. The successful candidate will manage two direct reports and collaborate closely with the accounting team and other departments to support the company's financial health and growth.

Responsibilities:

● Utilize AppFolio to manage and streamline financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.

● Oversee the preparation and maintenance of accurate financial records and reports.

● Perform regular reconciliations of bank statements, accounts, and transactions.

● Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and company policies.

● Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.

● Monitor cash flow and manage financial planning processes.

● Supervise and mentor two direct reports, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development and performance.

● Assist in the preparation for audits and coordinate with external auditors as needed.

● Collaborate with other departments to support financial decision-making and strategy.

● Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in financial management.

Requirements

● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

● Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, with a strong background in property management accounting.

● Proficiency in AppFolio software is required.

● Proven experience in managing and mentoring a team.

● Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

● Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

● Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

● Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
