Head of Corporate Public Relations & Communications
Context/Scope:
Diageo is a global leader in spirits with an outstanding collection of brands – a business built on the principles and foundations laid by the giants of the industry. Mexico is a strategic market for our company. Diageo employs approximately 2,500 people in Mexico and is the leading premium spirits' company in the country. Mexico is also the home of the Tequila & Mezcal category. Tequila is our third largest area of business globally, preceded by Scotch and beer. We are growing our current operations by building new facilities that will support the company's growth for years to come.
Our 10-year ESG action plan, 'Society 2030: Spirit of Progress', addresses the most material issues facing our company, people, brands, suppliers and communities. It has three priorities: to promote positive drinking, champion inclusion and diversity, and pioneer grain-to-glass sustainability.
We work to ensure alcohol can be enjoyed as part of a balanced lifestyle and partner with authorities, universities and NGOs to promote a culture of responsible sale of alcohol and responsible consumption. We are committed to beginning underage drinking, drink driving and the harmful use of alcohol.
We are also proud of our work to promote education and training in the communities where we operate. In recent years, our Learning for Life program has benefited more than 58,000 people through vocational and life-skills training.
Finally, Diageo, along with its Tequila brands Don Julio, Casamigos and DeLeon strives to replenish more than 100% of the water it uses in its tequila operations by the end 2025 and hopes to benefit the communities in which it operates in Jalisco.
The role of Head of Corporate PR & Communications will be crucial in delivering these goals and ambition, aligned to the global strategy in terms of strengthening and protecting Diageo’s reputation, driving employee engagement and promoting a positive public policy.
