Overview:
GEM is looking for gifted teachers who are passionate about sharing their faith inside and outside of the classroom! Our gospel-saturated schools are unique in that we take each aspect of school, and we seek to infuse each aspect with the gospel.
The Manantial School is located in the beautiful coastal town of Puerto Escondido in Oaxaca, Mexico. Puerto Escondido is home to 30,000 people, and is a safe city with a slower pace of life. There are multiple forms of public transportation, and many social and cultural opportunities. The Manantial School offers a unique, full English immersion program to local Mexican children who predominantly come from middle and lower class families. The Manantial School is a gospel-saturated, K-12th program, with a mixture of U.S.-based standards and Mexican-based standards designed to meet the needs of the students and their families and prepare them for different paths after graduation.
Job Objective:
As a Middle School Math Missionary Teacher, you will be able to leverage your life in a really impactful and meaningful way, as you make a difference in the lives of each of your students! You will have the opportunity to serve the Lord while pouring out your life in the classroom! You will create and maintain a positive learning environment within the classroom, supporting each student academically, spiritually, emotionally, and socially. Most importantly, each teacher is also a missionary, using their skills as a teacher to plant seeds of the gospel of Jesus Christ each day.

Secondary Principal and GEM Directors
Starting Salary:
This is a missions position that requires fundraising (similar to support raising). The starting fundraising goal is $18,000 per year, and the starting annual gross salary is $13,200 (USD). Our team will provide fundraising training before fundraising begins. Please note that, like foreign missionaries, fundraising takes place before beginning work in the office after fundraising training.
General Responsibilities:
- Commit to daily following Christ
- Actively weave the gospel in instruction
- Saturate all interactions with students and their families in the truth of the gospel
- Plan, prepare, and teach your Math classes using best practices
- Assist the school administration in accomplishing the academic and spiritual goals of the school
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and the community
- As a missionary, there will be expectations to assist in recruiting, fundraising, creating policy, and being an ambassador for GEM
Qualifications:
The candidate must possess:
- A true, genuine faith in Jesus Christ
- Fluency in English
- Degree in Secondary Education and Math, or related degree
- An outgoing and adventurous personality, ready to pursue others for the sake of the gospel
- A humble heart, ready to serve others
- Flexibility of schedule
- Willingness to relocate to Mexico for the duration of the contract (Starting in July 2025)
- Eligibility to work in the US
- Willingness to fundraise and recruit for the ministry
