The role will provide support to the Payment and Credit teams from the Legal Department. This position will play a key role for the financial services organization, providing legal solutions on a variety of topics, including Payment Transactions, Banking and Finance, among other related issues; as well as providing support regarding Mergers & Acquisitions projects, including but not limited to Project Finance and Investment matters. You will be based in Mexico City and will report to the Payments Senior Legal Manager.

  • Supporting the the business legal partner to DiDi Pay Mexico, working closely with local leaders and teams to achieve business goals
  • Provide sound legal advice and work on complex regulatory matters, affecting payments and financial services.
  • Preparation of a variety of legal documentation including transaction documentation designed to protect the interests of DiDi as lender, borrower, co-lender, service user or provider and in a wide range of other capacities.
  • Negotiation of legal documents with the DiDi’s legal counter-parties and under the guidance of Management.
  • Developing and managing DiDi’s regulatory filings and reporting requirements regarding payment and financial services.
  • Support the business on the negotiation, drafting and approval of agreements related to payments and financial services.
  • Coordinating and managing outside counsel and other legal providers.
  • 5+ years of legal experience, strong background in Banking & Finance Law.
  • Professional legal practice and experience, with particular emphasis on the financial services industry is essential. Experience in handling documentation of cross-border trade and project finance business will be an advantage.
  • Ability to communicate and function in a culturally diverse and change oriented setting with good knowledge of banking practices in Mexico.
  • Familiarity with trade and project finance issues, treasury issues and transnational transactions is desirable.
  • Great academic credentials and law degree from a Mexican university.
  • Strong legal knowledge on financial regulations.
  • Background in Anti-Money Laundering regulatory framework is a plus.
  • Sound business and legal judgment.
  • Entrepreneurial profile and mindset: flexibility, resilience, self-motivated, self-starting and hard-working, innovative thinking.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence and work collaboratively with high performance teams and different leaders.

Fluency in English; Portuguese and/or Chinese is a plus.
