What’s the role?

We are looking for an engineer to collaborate in building high-volume data pipelines to optimize the performance of Etsy’s advertising campaigns and enhance customer data privacy.

Etsy is built on Google Cloud Platform, and our Web stack runs on PHP and MySQL.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Engineering Manager.

In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.

This role requires your presence in Etsy’s Mexico City office once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. Candidates living within commutable distance of our Mexico City office or in Guadalajara may be the first to be considered. What’s this team like at Etsy?

• The MarTech Audience & Signals team is a remote team responsible for building and supporting high-impact marketing data integrations to improve ad targeting performance.

• We partner closely with cross-functional engineering, marketing, analytics, and privacy teams. We also collaborate with external vendors to build integration pipelines for pushing and pulling data privately and securely.

What does the day-to-day look like?

• Define methods and metrics for monitoring your team’s system health.

• Participate in on-call rotation to support the team’s data pipelines during office hours.

• Contribute to your team’s documentation and knowledge sharing.

• Working within the team’s guidelines to tackle scoped software problems independently.

• Delivering high-quality software consistently to marketing and analytics stakeholders

• Collaborating with cross-functional internal and external teams to build reliable data pipelines.

• Implement high-quality software solutions in an agile environment

• Communicate and collaborate with internal and external teams to build reliable data pipelines.

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

• Have one or more years of practical software development or data engineering experience.

• Write understandable, testable code with an eye toward maintainability and scalability.

• You are comfortable working on cross-functional projects with product managers, business stakeholders, and data analysts to maximize the impact of our work.
