We are excited to announce additional position is now available for a Software Engineer Lead to join our PRIME Technology & Innovation team in Kuala Lumpur as an Architect with knowledge on several programming languages (SQL, Java, Cx, C/C++) and technologies (such as -Oracle PL/SQL, Unix/Linux, REST API).

The PRIME Technology & Innovation team is responsible for expanding the functionality and technological side of our core applications that support complex features required for electronic payment processing: account/card onboarding, authorization cycle, clearing data loading etc. The current focus of the recruitment is our back-office application named PRIME. The majority of the business functionality is written in the Oracle PL/SQL but we are in the transition phase to move this logic into JAVA.

Our Software Engineers are involved in most of the product development stages, such as design, development, implementation, and support. In addition, they have the opportunity to:

• Design, deliver, and be the custodian of large-scale solutions, while implementing your creations with international engineering colleagues.

• Lead workstreams that design major value-adding projects for the company which embrace major players of the banking industry in Latin America.

• Drive cutting-edge technology by exploring concepts on AWS Amazon cloud, CI/CD tools, Jenkins automations, Kubernetes, GIT code repositories, Java development and Docker, Oracle PL/SQL.

• Belong to a culturally diverse team with team members in 4 different countries. We work collaboratively in an environment that best supports new joiners!

• Travel at client premises including Latin America e.g. Brazil, Mexico and Caribbean.

Key responsibilities include :

• Ability to take final technical decisions within the scope of the competence instead of escalating the problem to the next level of the hierarchy.

• Ability to provide proper analysis of the problematic situation that goes beyond the scope of the competence before escalating it to the next level of the technical hierarchy.

• Ability to distinguish two cases described above.

• Designing and developing code independently and with cooperation with the Team Leader using various tools and owning responsibility for quality assurance of their development.

• Reviews deliverables for content, accuracy, and potential system impacts for assigned tasks. Reviews deliverables for alignment with objectives and provides feedback and recommendations.

Essential requirements for the role:

• Minimum 6+ years’ experience with software designing, coding, and testing.

• Educated to degree level (e.g. BSc, MSc, B Tech) in an IT related subject such as Computer Science or MIS.

• Knowledge of Database Concepts and SQL.

• One of the following skills, or a combination of skills:

  • Database Development skills, preferably in Oracle PL/SQL.

  • REST API, ASP.NET and/or HTML, CSS, Java, JavaScript.Java, Cx, C/C++.

The following skills would be advantageous:

• Knowledge of UNIX/Linux Operating Systems.

• Knowledge of DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes etc.

• Knowledge of Cloud technology (e.g., AWS).

• Knowledge of working with version control tools such as SVN and Git.

Other requirements:

• Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.

• Spanish language will be considered an advantage.

• Flexibility to travel to client premises and undertake payment scheme certifications, onsite installation and client training, user acceptance testing support, act as floor walker and software expert during client visitations.
