  • Completes the registration process by inputting and retrieving information from a computer system, confirming pertinent information including number of guests and room rate. Makes appropriate selection of rooms based on guest needs. Codes electronic keys. Non-verbally confirm the room number and rate. Promotes and administers Hilton Marketing Programs such as Hilton Honors, for arriving guests. Ensures guest knows location of room, and arranges for team member to accompany guest to room. Provides welcome packet containing room keys, tokens of our appreciation, gifts, etc. to guest.
  • Ensure rooms and services are correctly accounted for within guest statement. Properly accounts for services provided by the hotel. Assists guest with check out payments or charges. Properly handles guest credit card and cash payments. Converts foreign currency at current posted rates.
  • Greets customers immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome. Use a positive and clear speaking voice, listens to understand requests, respond with appropriate action and provide accurate information such as outlet hours, special VIP programs, events, etc.
  • Receives special requests from guests, and responds appropriately or forwards requests to appropriate team members for decisions and actions.
  • Promptly answers the telephone and email inquiries. Inputs messages into the computer and advises other team members of special guest needs. Retrieves messages and communicates the content to the guest. Retrieves mail, packages and fascimiles or other special items for customers as requested.
  • Field guest complaints, conducting thorough research to develop the most effective solutions and negotiate results. Listen and extend assistance in order to resolve problems such as price conflicts, insufficient heating or air conditioning, etc.
  • Remain calm and alert especially during emergency situations and heavy hotel activity. Plan and implement detailed steps by using experienced judgement and discretion.
  • Provides continuous training to team members to ensure quality service and that Front Office KPIs are met.
  • Assists the FOM in completing performance reviews for team members
  • Provides feedback to FOM on team member performance and areas of opportunity.
  • Listens to and respond to team member feedback, both positive and negative.
  • Provides training and guidance for new team members.
  • Monitors guest feedback through SALT and social media review sites. Responds to reviews as necessary.
  • Assists with escalated guest service concerns and resolves them with a sense of professionalism and integrity.
  • Stays up to date with evolving brand standards, programs and initiatives.
  • Monitors team member e-Learning progress and ensures that all trainings are completed in a timely manner.


Supportive functions In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

  • Provides support to hotel upsell champion to ensure strong frontline revenue generation.
  • Provides support to Hilton Honors Champion to ensure hotel targets in Honors enrollment are met and that the hotel delivers strong satisfaction to Honors guests.
  • Greet guests upon arrival and provide a warm welcome and introduction to the hotel.
  • Open doors for guests and assist with luggage.
  • Assist guests to their rooms and orient them to the features and facilities of the hotel.
  • Assists guests upon departure and provide a fond farewell experience.
  • Provide local area information and make recommendations on location for dining and activities.
  • Respond to requests for doctors, flowers, child care, etc.
  • Make reservations for guests for transportation, dining and activities.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of both the hotel’s services and outside attractions.
  • Assist guest with bicycle rentals and process rentals and payments in the system.
  • Assist with group arrival and departures involving luggage delivery for 10 or more rooms.
  • Receive and organize incoming mail and packages for guests.
  • Deliver newspapers to guests.

Specific job knowledge, skills and ability The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information to resolve conflicts.
  • Basic mathematical skills and considerable skill in the use and operation of a calculator to prepare moderately complex mathematical calculations without error.
  • Ability to listen effectively and comprehend the English language to understand and obtain instructions and information.
  • Ability to see and hear in order to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Windows, MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to utilize good judgment when making decisions.
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
