Job Description

Make your mark as Chartering Manager at the Charter Desk of Boskalis Offshore Energy. In the role of Chartering manager, you will ensure optimal vessel sourcing and contracting according to project requirements for all business units, within the Offshore Energy Division of Boskalis. The Chartering Manager is responsible for the acquisition, negotiation, administration, development and implementation of contracts.

As a Chartering Manager, you establish and maintain proactively relationships with present and future clients, contractors, owners, brokers and operators in the marine/renewables/offshore and oil & gas industry. 

Your responsibilities are among others:

• Translating company’s project requirements into vessel specifications during all phases of a project;
• Composing request for information (RFi), and approaching market, internally and externally;
• Negotiating and closing contracts in accordance with project and legal procedures and guidelines. Supporting projects by monitoring the agreed budget, timely identifying risks and deviations and identifying opportunities to optimize the financial result;
• Evaluating suitability of offshore vessels/owners. Performing inspections if applicable;
• Presenting shortlisted vessels with selection criteria to Manager and Project manager and providing SWOT analysis with regards to recommended vessels;
• Commercially negotiating terms and conditions;
• Drafting and monitoring of chartering agreements (Bimco);
• Timely informing relevant stakeholders, drafting reports and ensuring availability of all relevant data and documents;
• Ensuring compliance with company’s guidelines policies and being aware of (local) legislation;
• Supporting to the tender process.

To fulfill the position of Chartering Manager we are looking for:

• A higher professional degree in for example Mechanical Engineering/Maritime Engineering/Nautical background;
• Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in a nautical, offshore and/or chartering environment - it's a plus if you have seagoing and/or survey experience;
• Experience with contract management and negotiation (BIMCO Charter Party);
• You know the offshore market (Renewables) well and are familiar with the processes for working on offshore projects;
• You know how to stand your ground in a very demanding environment and will interact a lot with Project Managers and Workmanagers in finding the right assets for projects;
• A good command in English (written and spoken);
• Experience with ICT office applications and ERP.

• Your team : You will be a key team member of a small group of chartering managers. On a day-to day basis you will report to the Head of department - Manager Charter Desk. Next to that, you are part of multidisciplinary Project Teams. 
• Where do you come to work : You will be located in our Papendrecht office. You may work 1 day per week remotely from home.
• Full-time : The position is full-time and may take over 40 hours a week of your time. International travelling could be 10-15% of your time.
