Quality Engineer

SMART Photonics is a rapidly growing, ambitious InP photonics foundry We are unique in offering our customers a Process Design Kit (PDK) which allows them to design complex photonic circuits. Our customers come from a range of market sectors, including telecom/datacom, medical sensing, automotive/lidar and quantum technologies.

We are currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer to expand our quality team. You will get involved and play an integral role in driving our company to the become a TIER 1 foundry, by introducing a continuous improvement culture.

This position offers you a wide scope from data analytics to product / process introduction, from industrialization to 8D analyse and everything in between.

• Coordinate & Moderate Design & Process FMEA’s, Control Plans and Statistical Process Analysis (SPC)
• Leading multi-disciplinary teams handling customer complaints using the 8D methodology,
• Lead and facilitate root cause analysis and corrective/preventive measures (8D/DMAIC)
• Training internal organization on use of Quality Tools
• Leading and coaching Continuous Improvement Projects (Six Sigma / DMAIC / DFSS) improving production (process) yield, machine uptime, process efficiency and overall product quality
• Next step activities when up and running could be: Supplier Quality Management and/ or internal audits.

We are looking for a person who is/has

• Technical or Quality education on bachelor level or up.
• At least 3 years of complex quality experience in semiconductors or highly regulated industry.
• Solid experience and proven ownership skills on 8D and FMEA.
• An eye for quality and the drive to keep pushing for continuous improvement.
• A Team player who knows how to motivate and if needed able to move a team to realize the next steps in quality.
• Excellent strong and confident communication and coaching skills.
• Strong quantitative and data analysis skills & knowledge.
• Six Sigma Black Belt is a pre, or willing to get to this level.
• Experienced in Quality Management Systems requirements such as ISO 9001.
