As a Business Manager you will take on a wide range of responsibilities, serving as the “right hand” of the Group CDO in their daily responsibilities for the Data Function. You will operate on a strategic, tactical and operational level, handling everything from acting as an advisor to the CDO, preparing management meetings, organizing offsites, drafting key communication and coordinate the budgeting process. You will also be the linking pin for key partners like Corporate Secretariat, and other business managers. Together with CDMO you ensure growth targets are met. To this end you contribute to the strategic planning and steering, take charge of the business execution and financial control as well as domain-specific communication processes.

This position provides a broad insight across the global ING organization and requires someone who combines common sense, curiosity and maturity with excellent judgment, discretion, and integrity. The ideal candidate is a self-directed executor who helps orchestrate progress effectively in front of and behind the scenes. Strong communication skills are a must as well as being comfortable with ambiguity and high work pressure. Because you never shy away from a challenge, you take the wheel in the planning and coordination of initiatives and projects and act as the linking pin to other business units and other Data offices.

Key Responsibilities

You will be in contact with many different colleagues from in- and outside the data domain to get things done. It is a “solo” role, but also one of the best roles to get to know ING in all of its aspects, and will offer you plenty of development opportunities ranging from sharpening your organizational skills and stakeholder management capabilities, to developing into a strong advisor and communicator.

• Advice and support Group CDO in the execution of the long and short term agenda
  • Support in accomplishing objectives
  • Prepare presentation and briefings
  • Advice and support CDO based on experience, knowledge, and understanding
  • Be the right hand for the CDO – you are the gatekeeper
• Proactively provide support to the CDMO MT
  • Gather analyse and interpret business information in order to advise on financial, business, or people decisions
  • Manage the CDMO MT agenda, minute the outcomes, and follow up on actions
  • Build a trusted relationship with the management team members to support positive team dynamics and good collaboration
• Proactively liaise with and provide support to colleagues in and outside the CDMO domain
  • Build an extensive network with key stakeholders
  • Take on ad hoc projects as required
  • Be the bridge within global data function to enable collaboration

• You bring organizational sensitivity, able to work with the CDOs (Chief Data Officers) as well as the Consumers of Data.
• Have a passion for numbers, excel and power point have no more secrets. Eye for detail.
• Able to bring structure in an ambiguous and unstructured environment.
• Operates independently, has a complete view and determines priorities based on context at industry (bank wide and outside company) level.
• Serves as an example of giving and receiving feedback and acts upon it. Challenges and improves own work and that of colleagues continuously and is an ambassador for continuous improvement.
• Performs analysis and solves high complexity problems; creates solutions based on in-depth evaluation of full organizational context and objectives.
• Is a trusted advisor to Senior Management and is recognized as such, and is the driving force to communicate relevant market trend.
• Possess excellent communication skills. Able to get a message across at all levels in the organization. An excellent written and spoken knowledge of English. Dutch is highly valued.
