The COO will play a critical role in optimizing operational efficiency, enhancing service quality, and maximizing profitability across all aspects of our freight forwarding operations. Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership - Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to develop and execute the company's strategic vision, goals, and objectives. Drive operational excellence initiatives to improve efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness. Identify growth opportunities, market trends, and competitive threats to inform strategic decision-making. Operational Management - Oversee all aspects of day-to-day operations, including freight forwarding, transportation, warehousing, and distribution. Develop and implement standardized operational processes and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance with industry regulations. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational performance and identify areas for improvement. Team Leadership and Development - Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the operational team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing operations team capable of meeting current and future business needs. Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations to drive employee engagement and retention. Customer Focus - Champion a customer-centric approach to service delivery, ensuring that customer needs and expectations are met or exceeded. Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to develop tailored logistics solutions and enhance customer satisfaction. Proactively address customer concerns and feedback, seeking opportunities to enhance service quality and value. Risk Management and Compliance - Implement robust risk management processes to identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks. Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, customs requirements, and international trade laws. Develop and maintain strong relationships with regulatory authorities, industry associations, and other stakeholders. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Proven track record of leadership and success in a senior operational role within the freight forwarding or logistics industry. Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of financial management, budgeting, and strategic planning. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels. Demonstrated experience in driving operational excellence, process improvement, and organizational change. Knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in freight forwarding and logistics. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage competing priorities.
