About you:

Our favourite new frontend or full-stack developer has an eye for detail and clever technical solutions! A dedicated engineer, who likes to make a positive impact on the user experience of the tens of thousands of daily Plek users. As our new frontender, you will play a key role in ensuring we develop the finest communication platform possible, with the best user experience you can think of! 

You will bring to the team:

• A deep love to learn and work with the latest technologies.
• Structured, methodical and used to working with standards and versioning.
• Critical when it comes to both existing code and your own work.
• A good and critical eye for UX design
• Open and supportive when it comes to helping out colleagues.

What you'll be doing:

• Develop and improve Plek with a team of designers, back-enders and other front-enders
• Implement new UX designs
• Fix issues in the existing code when needed
• Experiment with new technologies and prototypes with clients
• Come up with intelligent ideas to make Plek smarter
• Help other developers

We have 300+ organisations that use Plek on a daily basis!

The ideal candidate;

• 4+ years relevant work experience;
• Graduate school/university level
• Good spoken and written English (Dutch is a plus);
• 2+ years of experience with React
• Typescript

And even better would be:

• Experience with Agile and Scrum
• React native

What will a typical work week look like?

Monday
You start the week with a cup of coffee from home, or from the office, as you like. Mondays the marketing & sales team is in the office, good fun to be around and to share the lunch. The start of the week is for the refinement meeting, supported by our product owner. At 12:00 you join the weekly team meeting where all Plek teams share their successes and plans. And after lunch you join the sprint planning meeting. Now you are ready to get going!

Tuesday

Today the client success team is in the office and you are more than welcome to join them. After the daily stand-up, you get going with your sprint. At the end of the day you discuss a request from a large new client with our client success managers. Or you have an optional meeting with the design team, that you sometimes join.

Wednesday

Today is really quiet in the office and you decide to work from home. Wednesday is a nice get-thing-done day, where you can make a lot of progress. Of course you start the day with the daily stand up.

Thursday

Office day for the product team! After the stand-up, there is room for another refinement meeting, if needed. During lunch, there is a shared event for all teams, like the monthly Project Soup, where we enjoy home-made soup while listening to a short personal presentation from a colleague. Or Plek College, where one of the teams does a deep-dive in a Plek-related topic. We also use Thursdays for hackathons, deep-diving in challenges or new technologies. And at the end of the day it is time for the retrospective. Once every four weeks, Thursday is release day.

Thursdays are always fun, and we regularly end the day with a drink and pizza.

Friday

Just the stand-up and then a quiet day, where you can focus on coding. When time permits and if needed we organize a development meeting to share problems and explore new technologies.
