AI Solutions Engineer

We are looking for an AI Solutions Engineer who can bridge the gap between business opportunities and technical implementation. In this role, you will design, build, and operationalize AI-powered solutions that become part of our core software platforms. From intelligent assistants and AI agents to document processing and predictive capabilities, you will help define how AI creates value for our customers and shape the standards, tooling, and practices that will support Keylane's AI journey for years to come. 

Key about your team 

You will work with colleagues across Keylane's product and engineering organization. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, product management, architecture, and customer-facing teams, making collaboration a key part of your success. 

You will work with teams across the organization to identify opportunities, deliver solutions, and help establish best practices. This is a unique opportunity to influence how AI is further adopted within Keylane and help build the foundations of our future AI capability. 

Key about your role 

As an AI Solutions Engineer, you will play a central role in bringing AI capabilities into production across Keylane. Your work will help identify where AI can make the biggest impact for our customers and our business. 

You will act as Keylane's AI specialist in customer conversations, helping customers explore opportunities for AI within their business processes and translating their needs into practical solutions that can be embedded within our software platforms. Together with product teams, software engineers, architects, and other stakeholders, you will turn ideas into scalable AI capabilities that deliver measurable value. 

From intelligent assistants and retrieval-based solutions to more advanced agentic workflows, you will design, build, and operationalize AI-powered functionality across Keylane's products. Working within Microsoft's Azure ecosystem, you will help establish the practices needed to operate AI reliably and responsibly, including evaluation, monitoring, testing, and performance optimization. 

As Keylane's data capabilities continue to mature, you will also contribute to broader machine learning initiatives such as predictive modelling, anomaly detection, and intelligent document processing. This role offers a unique opportunity to help shape the standards, best practices, and ways of working that will support the future growth of AI across the organization.

You are passionate about using AI to solve real business challenges and enjoy working in an environment where technology, product development, and customer needs come together. You combine strong technical expertise with curiosity, pragmatism, and the ability to translate complex concepts into practical solutions. 

You bring: 

• At least 4 years of experience in Applied AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field, including hands-on experience delivering AI-powered solutions in production environments; 

• Strong Python development skills; 

• Experience working with modern AI frameworks, building AI-powered applications and agents, and applying model fine-tuning techniques such as instruction tuning, LoRA, or QLoRA; 

• Experience operationalizing AI solutions, including prompt management, evaluation, monitoring, testing, and continuous improvement in production environments; 

• A solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals, including model evaluation, feature engineering, and statistical concepts; 

• Experience working with data, including SQL and data preparation techniques; 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders; 

• Confidence presenting ideas, discussing solutions with customers, and translating business challenges into technical opportunities; 

• A proactive, analytical, and solution-oriented mindset; 

• Fluency in English, both written and spoken. 

It would be great if you also have experience with Microsoft Azure AI services, model fine-tuning techniques, document intelligence solutions, MLOps practices, or AI platforms and tooling. Experience within the insurance or pension industry, or another highly regulated environment, is considered a plus.

A Certificate of Conduct (VOG) and reference check are part of the application process.

Benefits based on a Dutch contract, may be subject to change for international candidates 

• A monthly gross salary between €5.200 and €7.500 based on 40 hours per week; 

• 8% holiday allowance of your total gross salary;
