Area BaaS focuses on delivering Rabobank services wherever our clients require them, which is increasingly outside our own channels. Through third-party platforms, we provide easy-to-integrate payment, identification, and banking services, fulfilling our commitment: We enable seamless integration of services within the platforms preferred by our clients. You lead an area of ~40 professionals with five direct reports and serve as a key member of the Tribe Digital Platform leadership team.

The objectives of the Area:

• To embed the RES proposition successfully across platforms and transform the bank by delivering an excellent experience to our clients, developers and partners.
• To boost embedded product development by standardizing API design and governance.
• To ensure that Embedded Services can be sold and distributed at scale, by ensuring self-service for both consumers and producers and by accelerating partner onboarding and integration.
• To broaden our offering by expanding and deepening the partner ecosystem.
• To drive active usage and monetization of APIs.

You & Your role

As the Area Lead for Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS), you will guide the transition of Area BaaS from a start-up to a scalable operation, executing the Embedded Banking strategy and coordinating with both internal and external stakeholders to help the area evolve. You lead a diverse team focused on improving our API management platform, developer portal, and CRM systems for customer sales and service. In this growth phase, expanding self-service features for users, streamlining partner onboarding, and maintaining platform continuity and standardization are key to the area’s success.

You are at the forefront of transformation in the financial sector, heading an area that is driving changes in how financial services are delivered and distributed throughout the Netherlands. Increasingly, customers can access financial services wherever they need them-directly, indirectly, through partners, or via emerging technologies. You contribute to shaping and executing the embedded finance strategy, working within your own area and closely collaborating with Proposition Managers and Product Tribes. Your team's efforts will redefine how consumers and businesses across the country experience and use financial services.

Top 5 responsibilities

• Influence and implement the product vision and strategy at tactical and operational levels, ensuring the success of Rabobank’s’ Developer Portal and the portfolio.
• Enable the bank to deliver rock-solid services in BaaS by continuously optimizing the BaaS-platform, growing more in self-service capabilities and standardizing the architecture.
• Follow developments in the market and upcoming legislation (like FIDA and PSR) to anticipate on opportunities.
• Manage stakeholders to drive change, internally as well as significant external technology partners in delivering services.
• Support Product Owners in defining product requirements within their squads.

You & Your talent

• Passionate about open banking, APIs, and fintech;
• Experience in Agile and High Performing Team coaching;
• Proven expertise in digital or technology environments;
• Excellent and proven stakeholder management skills, communication skills and organizational sensitivity;
• Proven ability in setting new directions and execution power (managing change and implementation);
• Strong customer focus and entrepreneurial spirit;
• Academic education / level of thinking;
• You are fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
