Automation & Robotics Engineer [25085]

HE Space has joined forces with CS Group to lead the engineering and digital space market in Europe and to provide highly skilled consulting.

As part of the Technology, Engineering and Quality Directorate, you will have the following responsibilities:

•  Day-to-day operation and maintenance of the different units of the Automation and Robotics Laboratory;
  • Maintenance and servicing of the laboratory hardware and software;
  • Support in planning and implementing new procurements;
  • Maintenance of the laboratory inventory;
  • Implementation of the laboratory safety rules.
• Planning, execution and documentation of laboratory experiments as:
  • Specific engineering support to existing ESA space projects;
  • Preparation of engineering, technology, and facility infrastructure competence for potential future ESA projects;
  • Assessment and integration into end-to-end testbeds of the various outputs from ESA technology development contracts.
• Demonstration of the Automation and Robotics capabilities.

You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience:

• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is required;
• Experience in specification and analysis of robot manipulation, locomotion, and control systems;
• Education in mechatronics (covering from mechanical, electrical and computer engineering including data communications and digital image processing systems);
• Practical experience in robot systems and related engineering tools (e.g., standard design, analysis and simulation s/w);
• Experience in space project work;
• Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
