Job Description - Business Development & Customer Success Application Scientist Cell Avidity

Description 


This is an exciting opportunity to join LUMICKS at a pivotal moment of growth in its cell avidity portfolio. As a Business Development & Customer Success Application Scientist, you will operate in a commercially focused, customer-facing role that combines business development, opportunity progression, and field application support. 



You will support both the existing z-Movi installed base and the upcoming launch of Avidion, LUMICKS’ next-generation cell avidity platform, with first customer installations planned for 2026. 



In this role, you will engage customers across the full lifecycle—from early technical and business qualification through proof-of-concept, installation, training, adoption, and long-term success. You will work closely with Sales, Account Management, Product Management, and R&D to drive opportunity progression, support customer outcomes, and ensure structured feedback from the field informs commercial and product decisions. 


 


Key responsibilities 



  • Support business development for Avidion by qualifying opportunities and engaging prospects in scientific and value-driven discussions 



  • Support opportunity progression by delivering technical presentations, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept experiments aligned with customer decision criteria 



  • Act as Field Application Scientist for the z-Movi installed base, providing training and application support within the scope of customer agreements 



  • Support onboarding and early adoption of Avidion customers, with a focus on utilization, outcomes, and long-term value 



  • Engage priority and strategic accounts through conferences, seminars, and targeted outreach activities 



  • Provide structured field and customer feedback to Product Management and R&D to support application development and launch readiness 



  • Contribute to technical and commercial marketing materials such as application notes, white papers, and presentations 



  • Maintain accurate documentation of customer interactions, opportunities, and technical activities 



Skills & Competences



  • Degree in Biophysics, Cell Biology, Immunology, or a related life-science discipline (PhD preferred), or equivalent relevant experience 



  • Experience in business development, application science, field application support, or another customer-facing scientific role 



  • Strong understanding of biological assays, cell-based workflows, or immunology; cell avidity experience is a plus 



  • Business-oriented mindset with the ability to connect scientific capabilities to customer needs and decision drivers 



  • Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly to academic and industry stakeholders 



  • Comfortable balancing commercial objectives with long-term customer success 



  • Able to work independently in a field-based role with a high degree of ownership 



  • Willingness to travel approximately 40% 


 


Location 


This role focuses primarily on the UK market. Candidates should be based in the UK or the Netherlands, with regular travel across the UK and to LUMICKS’ European sites.
