As Category Buyer Components & Cables, approximately 80% of your focus is on NCWS, the centre of competence within Neways for cables and connectors. From this position, you are the subject-matter expert and primary point of contact for this category across all Operating Companies (OCs), including locations such as NSK.
The remaining 20% of your time is spent working centrally, in close alignment with Holding. In this capacity, you actively contribute to the further development and alignment of the category strategy at group level.
You work closely with the Category Manager (Holding) and are responsible for translating the central sourcing strategy into a stable, efficient, and well-functioning operation within NCWS. You ensure that strategic decisions are effectively implemented in day-to-day operations and result in measurable improvements.
In addition, you play a key role in the preparation, execution, and follow-up of business reviews for, among others, NCWS and NSK. This includes providing substantive input, analysing performance, initiating improvement actions, and monitoring progress.
You operate within a category that involves large and complex (multinational) suppliers, where you frequently deal with:
quality-related issues
escalations
structural improvement and optimisation programmes
The role has a clear hands-on and problem-solving focus. You interact daily with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and Quality to ensure continuity, quality, and performance across the supply chain.
Within NCWS, this gives you significant decision-making and influencing power: you actively manage supplier performance, take ownership of complex cases, and play a visible role in stabilising and further professionalising the category within Neways.

In this role, you play a key part in strengthening our supply chain. To succeed, you bring:
Bachelor’s level of thinking and working (HBO), preferably with a relevant education in purchasing (e.g. NEVI)
3–5 years of relevant experience as a Buyer or Category Buyer
Experience working with complex suppliers and multinational organizations
Strong skills in escalation handling and problem solving
Affinity with cables, connectors, and technical components is a strong advantage
Strong process‑oriented insight into supply chain and quality topics
Strong communication skills, resilience, and a collaborative mindset
Good command of English; Dutch is preferred
Responsible for supplier management within the Components, Cables & Connectors category
Operating from NCWS as the competence center for cables and connectors
Close collaboration with the Category Manager (Holding) and local stakeholders
Managing and following up on Supplier Performance & Relationship Management, with a focus on:
o Supplier Quality and compliance
o Delivery reliability
o Technical capabilities and complexity
o value engineering and cost optimization
Actively handling and resolving escalations and quality issues
Strong problem‑solving capability in case of supplier deviations or disruptions
Preparing, conducting, and following up on business reviews for NCWS and NSK
Implementing and embedding improvements at suppliers (practical and results‑driven)
Close cooperation with Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain
Managing item and supplier master data and changes in business partners
Ensuring correct communication towards suppliers regarding supply deliverables (e.g. Certificates of Conformity and Analysis – CoC / CoA)
Monitoring contract agreements and compliance with terms and conditions
Monitoring and following up on KPIs and QLTC metrics
Actively maintaining supplier relationships to secure continuity within the supply chain
