Job Description - Chef de Cuisine 4* Hotel, Venlo, Netherlands
This 4* Hotel in the heart of Venlo, Netherlands is seeking a talented and experienced Chef de Cuisine to join their team in their main restaurant.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about sustainability, local sourcing, and culinary innovation, with a strong background in traditional, Oriental, vegetarian, and vegan cuisine. This is a full-time position offering competitive compensation and benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day culinary operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation, and service.
Develop and implement creative menus, focusing on sustainability and local sourcing.
Lead and manage the kitchen staff, providing training, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
Collaborate with local farmers, producers, and suppliers to source the best seasonal ingredients.
Innovate by incorporating residual products into new dishes, reducing waste and promoting sustainability.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Monitor food costs, labor, and other expenses to meet the restaurant's financial goals.
Engage with guests to gather feedback, address concerns, and enhance their dining experience.
Work Schedule:
Full-time position, working a minimum of 40 hours per week.
Typically, 5 days a week, with potential for a 4-day working week if the kitchen team is complete.
Overtime will be registered as time back, allowing for extra paid time off when business allows.
Reporting to the head of the department.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Chef de Cuisine, Head Chef, or similar role in a high-end restaurant.
Strong knowledge of traditional, Oriental, vegetarian, and vegan cuisine.
Passion for sustainability and experience in incorporating eco-friendly practices in the kitchen.
Exceptional culinary skills, creativity, and attention to detail.
Leadership and management abilities to effectively oversee and inspire a diverse kitchen team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Formal culinary training and relevant certifications are preferred.
Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
EU passport required.

Benefits
Gross salary between â¬4,000 and â¬4,500 per month, based on experience. ( 3,000-3,340 EUR/Net per month )
8% vacation allowance, based on annual gross salary.
25 days of paid vacation per year.
Sign-up bonus of â¬1,000, received with the first full payment.
Company smartphone.
Housing provided at the hotel for the first 2-3 months at â¬400 per month, then â¬800 per month thereafter.
Agreement for 1 year with the possibility of a permanent employment contract.
