Job Description - Commercial Analyst Meta Sales
Are you the commercially oriented business analyst we need who does not stop until you get to the goal? As Business Analyst Meta Sales you are a KEY player when it comes to analyzing the business performance of Meta on both financial and non-financial data/criteria and driving the actions and insights to the right teams. Is the right product mix available in this market, are we offering enough quality fares at the right speed, making sure we have a good chance to win click outs in the Meta channels, are the attach rates healthy or are they actually harming overall conversion or contribution margin, is the contribution margin aligned with the goals per market, how is the Partner Quality Score trending or does it need action? There is a broad world of Key Indicators that need constant measurement and analysis to help steer teams around you in the right direction.
Job Purpose
The Business Analyst Meta Sales is a vital role combining operational data and tactical insights into actionable insights. These insights and actions need to be put towards the right teams and followed up, making sure the performance moves in the desired correction. You will closely partner with the Pricing team, the Product teams, the Conversion team and FP&A team, as well as support and be part of commercial (re)negotiations with Meta partners together with the Manager Strategic Partnerships, who is your peer in the team. The goal is driving long term sustainable growth in the meta search channels (Skyscanner, Kayak, Google Flights, etc.) through the insights you will gather based on understanding the processes that drive clickouts/traffic to our websites and how the potential customers are converted to successful bookers. Your findings will help steer the tactical and strategic direction Travix takes in this important commercial channel and major revenue stream, with the end goal to continuously improve the volume and profitability of Travix’s meta-search business.
The Challenge
Analyze daily/weekly/monthly performance trends per region/market, both financial data and business data is included.
Find areas for improvement based on the analyses done
Drive change through different teams by addressing outcomes of the analyses and help to affect change where needed
Assist the Manager Strategic Partnerships in regional and country analyses, to help drive (re)negotiations on commercial terms per meta partner
Partner with the Pricing and Corporate FP&A teams to drive accurate volume, revenue and margin analysis and forecasting, including P&L insights to contribution margin level of the meta-search channel
Key performance indicator (KPI) tracking for Meta channels;
Find and analyze commercial, financial and external (market, competitor) insights; including building viable strategies to expand the commercial footprint across multiple meta-search partners;
Provide the above insights to channel leadership, FP&A, C-suite and used for: monthly business reviews; planning cycle reviews; ad-hoc analysis and business cases
Strategic partner to the meta-search leadership team in business and financial planning.
What you bring to the table
5-7 years of experience within similar roles, can be in in the area of FP&A, Business Controlling, Sales/Business Planning, Strategic Analysis or Investment Banking role
Commercial exposure (pricing, go-to-market (GTM) strategy, account management) is highly advantageous
Experience in the OTA, airline or travel industry is desirable
Superior analytical skills with a proven record of accomplishment of leveraging data analysis to drive change - both internally and externally (market and competitor insights)
Drive collaborative and real time forecasting
Strong presentation skills and the ability to effectively interact with senior leadership to lead, guide and influence decision making and goal setting initiatives
Must possess the ability to challenge the status quo and drive business process and design changes
Ability to work with different cultures and across different levels of people
Self-starter with a strong work ethic
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills appropriate for an entrepreneurial environment where demands and priorities change rapidly
Systems and ERP experience in any of the following: Oracle HFM, SAP, Netsuite, Looker, Tableau or similar.
